Zadkiel / LE / Whisky And The Lost Notes / Deadwing

Fourth City\'s Mat Hume puts together music from the UK and beyond! Zadkiel Four-piece Alternative/Progressive Rock band from Nottingham. Fronted by singer-songwriter Dan Heathcote. https://youtu.be/5R7NEe08Pyc LE We are LE LEs music tries to capture and reflect triumph, heroism, anguish and struggle throughout society. Not as a political stand, but to hold a mirror up to humanity. Weaving speech and video in to live performance to create a cinematic experience of popular culture and a reflection of our times. Having played at iconic venues such as The Lending Room (Leeds), The Parish (Huddersfield) and sharing stages with the likes of Bonnacons Of Doom, The Cosmic Dead and Once And Future - LE are working hard to establish themselves on the music scene. Before the birth of LE their individual endeavours had seen support both nationally and internationally from the likes of BBC 6 Music, XFM, Amazing Radio, Rai Radio 2 (Italy), WFUV (America) and print features and reviews from The Guardian, The Times and NME. With an impressive back catalogue of touring in various separate bands, including supporting acts such as Pure Reason Revolution and Public Service Broadcasting, LE are looking to build on those achievements as a collective. The 4 piece have now turned their sites to newer, grittier and more powerful pastures. instagram.com/weareloemusic twitter.com/weareloemusic Whisky and the lost Notes Cinematic sounds with a dark energy. https://soundcloud.com/whisky-and-the-lost-notes Deadwing Deadwing are a Manchester based Gothic/Psych Rock band that combine a variety of influences ranging from Black Sabbath to Pink Floyd. The Broken Islands Autumn UK Tour 2019

Line up Wolforna - Wolforna are a 3 piece Acoustic Alternative-Rock band from Leeds, West Yorkshire, UK that formed in early 2019. Jack, Adam, and Alex have played music together since the age of 15, and after being in various cover bands, they decided they wanted to start writing music of their own. The music they create is a contrast of soft acoustic rock with strong lead undertones, combining to make the individual sound they have today. Wolforna draw influences from artists such as; Fleetwood Mac, The Beatles, The Last Shadow Puppets and Ash. Following the release of their debut single \'The Fleet\' Wolforna are continuing to write and produce music - Whilst also playing some exciting stages and gigs along the way The Broken Islands - amalgamate elements of post-rock; shoegaze; trip-hop and any number of dark-wave permutations to come up with what might well be a genre in its own right. Weaving crashing guitars around delicate, zephyr-like vocals they effortlessly combine vast organic soundscapes to generate an other-worldly sonic experience. The album comprises both English and French versions of the songs and is available on iTunes, Amazon, Google, Spotify and Pandora among many others. The band have also just released their new single High Life Listen here; https://open.spotify.com/track/4FpShd59L8wLoFxDVkg9Ec?si=qssgZlJaSQeifs6Qsmf6nw Support TBA

Liam Gallagher

Liam Gallagher returns to Sheffield on Monday 18th November 2019. Tickets went on general sale Friday 12th July at 9am. Liam Gallagher has announced details of a major UK tour. The 11-date schedule includes a show in Sheffield at the FlyDSA Arena on the 18th November 2019. Huge demand for tickets has been a hallmark of Liams solo career. His debut UK arena tour saw all 100,000 tickets sell out within a morning, while all 40,000 tickets for his Finsbury Park show were snapped up within minutes. Liam Gallaghers eagerly anticipated second album Why Me? Why Not. is shaping up to be one of the album events of the year. The reaction to the lead single Shockwave was biblical. It shot straight to the top of the Official Vinyl and Trending Charts, in the process underlining Liams status as a rock star who speaks to new and established fans alike. The River lives up to Liams ambition for Why Me? Why Not. As he stated, I want the second album to be a step-up because the hardest thing to do is to make something the same, only better. So thats what weve done. Its a better record than As You Were. Which is saying something, as that was epic, wasnt it? Specific show terms & conditions below:- No tickets will be issued or can be collected from the box office for this show until October 2019. Tickets are limited to a maximum of 4 tickets per person on this event. Standing area is not recommended for under 14\'s. You can view the venues general security procedures on our website. Do Nothing // Cafe Totem, Sheffield

Nottingham based four piece Do Nothing is made up of vocalist Chris Bailey, guitarist Kasper Sandstrom, bassist Charles Howarth and Andrew Harrison on drums. Their sound is equal parts Roxy-esque art rock and Ze/Celluloid records no wave. Do Nothing songs are characterized by the acerbic lyricism of vocalist Chris Bailey where every song feels like its own self-contained psycho drama. Listening to their latest single Gangs at times is like walking into a very busy and very loud pub and over hearing snatches of confused and bitter conversations wait a minute this isnt my house says one person who can eat at a time like this? says another.

We will be sharing the stage with the amazing M I L O and Younger Bones (who are reforming to play this gig as a favour to us!) Come down and celebrate with us! 3 entry

Shihad UK Anniversary Tour | O2 Academy Sheffield

Academy Events presents Shihad Plus special guests Shihad is taking their 30-year anniversary tour to the UK after a successful run in Australia & New Zealand. Fast forward to 2019 Jon, Tom, lead guitarist Phil Knight (who they found through a music shop notice board ad in 1989) and bass player Karl Kippenberger, who joined the band in 1993, (from being a fan) have released nine studio albums (five of which went to #1 in NZ). They survived a name change propelled by Jihad becoming a staple negative reference in the global vernacular thanks to 9/11 (Shihad became Pacifier, and returned to Shihad), personal triumphs and tragedies, travelled all over the world with endless tours, selling out headline shows and sharing stages at major local and international festivals, and touring with musical heroes like Motorhead, Metallica, Faith No More and AC/DC to name a few. This November the band return the UK after an 8 year absence to celebrate 30 years since they stepped out into the world. WSTR

The Leadmill x Wrong Crowd presents WSTR WSTR had a swift rise as part of the burgeoning U.K. pop-punk scene that saw them signed to independent American label No Sleep Records before they\'d even played their first show. Hailing from Liverpool, the band, made up of Sammy Clifford on vocals, Alex Tobijanski on bass, and Kieren Alder and Danny Swift on guitar, cited American groups like blink-182, Sum 41, and New Found Glory as major influences. In September 2015 they released their first EP, SKRWD, via No Sleep, and embarked on a tour of both the U.K. and Europe alongside fellow punks Creeper, Moose Blood, and Neck Deep. WSTR received some criticism for their similarity to the Wrexham band and tourmates Neck Deep, but frontman Sammy Clifford dismissed parallels as a result of their friendship. In 2016 the band released the first single from their debut record. Lyrically, "Lonely Smiles" deals with a breakup, and Clifford confessed that the theme was the major preoccupation of the album. Red, Green or Inbetween was released in January 2017. After striking a deal with Hopeless Records in early 2018, WSTR delivered their sophomore outing, Identity Crisis, in August of that year

Airbourne + Tyler Bryant & The Shakedown. Sheffield.

NEW SHOW: Thursday 28th November 2019 Airbourne + Tyler Bryant & the Shakedown O2 Academy Sheffield Priority Tickets for O2 Customers available : Wed 24th July 9am General sale: Fri 26th July @ 9am Airbourne is possessed by the spirits of rocknroll. These Australians have always gone where the beers are cool, the girls are hot and the music can never be too loud and proud. There have been some hellraising rock n roll bands, but Airbourne have taken the good-times, bad-boys, party-animal strut to a new level. The scrappy upstarts from Warrnambool a country town about 3 hours from Melbourne, announced their arrival with 2007s Runnin Wild, one of the most talked-about and best-reviewed debuts in recent hard rock history. Metal Hammer handed them a Golden Gods Award for Best Debut Album and Classic Rock rightly hailed them Best New Band. Airbourne further marked their territory with the jaw-dropping follow up No Guts. No Glory cracking the Top 40 in the UK, the Top 20 in Australia and Billboards Top 200. After unrelenting global touring that included co-headlining the legendary Wacken Festival and performing on the main stage at Download UK, the band released the critically acclaimed Black Dog Barking into the world. The album reached #5 in Germany, Top 20 across Europe, Australia, and New Zealand; and Top 30 in Canada and the U.K. Airbourne bring a sound that UKs Metal Hammer suggests, takes seconds to memorise and a lifetime to shake off.

Elvis In Concert

One of the most unique concert experiences of recent years is set to return for 2019 having won the hearts of critics and fans a-like, as Elvis is set once again to be back, in a building near you! What\'s more the UK shows are the only European dates this year!!! The six-date arena tour is stopping off in Sheffield at the FlyDSA Arena on Thursday 28th November 2019. *Tickets, priced 50.40 & 61.60 (including fees). The show will see the King once again up close on screen alongside the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra live on stage, with this year being extra special as they will also be joined by The TCB Band Elvis original and long-time backing band. This is the only chance to experience the man who changed the course of popular music, selling an unparalleled 1 billion records worldwide. Marking 50 years since Elvis triumphant return to live performing - as he took up his infamous Las Vegas residency in 1969 - the 2019 tour will feature very special personal appearances from Priscilla Presley and long term Elvis associate Jerry Schilling, who will be sharing intimate stories, personal photos plus rare home movies. On the tour, Priscilla Presley said: Were BACK and better than ever! I am thrilled and honoured to be returning to the UK. Please join me live on stage to present this brand new show backed by the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra , Elviss TCB Band, never before seen new footage of Elvis, and more surprises, including, Jerry Schilling and myself on stage sharing our stories. This will be a once in a lifetime show... you wont want to miss. The collaboration between the music of Elvis and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra has spearheaded an incredible current phenomenon, with new orchestral arrangements of the music of the most legendary artists of all time being presented with the original recordings of the artists own voice which led to three huge-selling and critically acclaimed albums (If I Can Dream, The Wonder of You, and Christmas with Elvis and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra). With Elvis never having toured the UK, or performing with a full sized orchestra as were two of his dreams, these shows are a chance to both honour the legacy of an icon who has defined popular culture for over half a century, and for fans to see The King live, who never had the chance to before. *A very limited number of Meet and Greet packages are available priced 280 - this includes booking fee, a ticket in the first two rows and a pre-show meet and greet with Priscilla Presley and Jerry Schilling (exact time to be confirmed along with further details of what is included in this package).

Jarr'ed Up Arts Lab Presents China Bears At Cafe Totem.

China Bears were formed in Somerset in 2015 by twin brothers Ivan (guitar / vox) and Frazer (guitar). The line-up was completed after meeting bassist James and drummer Dean at university in Guildford later that year. Perhaps unsurprisingly drawing influence from bands such as The National, Dry The River, Frightened Rabbit and Snow Patrol, China Bears create misery-strewn indie anthems combining ambient guitars, choral vocals and raw lyric writing. The end result is a fantastically precise sound which takes the original emo loud / quiet template of, say, Death Cab For Cutie, but adds a stadium-sized sonic sucker punch. All of which is evinced by their forthcoming debut EP out on August 9th via Fierce Panda Records. SUPPORT TBA. 14+

SPINN

ON SALE WEDS 5TH JUNE 10AM After the release of their self-titled debut album, SPINN have announced a new UK tour off the back of their biggest tour to date. The band have gained support from Spotify, Radio One, Dork Magazine, Line of Best Fit, and a host of other blogs. Their back catalogue has had over five million streams across Spotify having garnered choice placements in playlists like New Music Friday UK, The Indie List and being on the cover of Hot New Bands twice. Known for their youthful sound, the band have seen a clear progression in their fanbase gaining fans of music young and old. Their live shows have become something of a talking point with Louis OReilly and Sean McLachlans tight knit rhythm section offering a solid backbone to Andy Powers swirling guitars, and Johnny Quinns trademark dance moves. Having released their debut album, a busy summer of festivals, and now this UK tour in hand, 2019 is set to be SPINNs year. Dork Magazine:SPINN are one of the most exciting up and coming bands out there, and their first LP shows that behind those mischievous grins is a group of young men with incredible talent who undoubtedly have what it takes to be the next big thing. 4/5 Line Of Best Fit: SPINN channel an array of Northern bands in to an amalgam that feels both classic and contemporary, optimistic and introspective, and at times, wistfully melancholic. 8.5/10 Upset Magazine: Theres very little rough edges or darkness here, Spinn dont want your soul they just want to put a smile on your face and in these dark times the satisfying salve of indie pop goodness is always welcome. 4/5

Hail HRH! You asked for it! We\'re curating probably the nuttiest Xmas party ever @ 02 Academy Sheffield on Friday 29th November - the night before HRH Vikings too. Jack Whitehall

Award-winning comedian, actor and writer Jack Whitehall has announced his biggest UK and Ireland arena tour ever for 2019 with brand new show, JACK WHITEHALL: STOOD UP. Jack will be stopping off in Sheffield at the FlyDSA Arena on Sunday 1st December 2019, which will be his third visit to the venue! Tickets, priced 22.40 - 55.44 (including fees) available online through this website or via the credit card hotline on 0114 256 5656. Following two complete sell out arena tours, Jack Whitehall Gets Around in 2014 and Jack Whitehall: At Large in 2017, which premiered on Netflix, JACK WHITEHALL: STOOD UP promises to be the most hilarious yet from one of comedys most electric talents. A joy to watch on stage and a comedian who is firmly on the road to becoming a global megastar, this show is not to be missed. Jack Whitehall said: I couldnt be more thrilled to be going back out on the road. Theres no feeling like standing up on stage in front of an arena full of strangers, and still being able to hear your dad heckle you. Most recently seen in Lasse Hallstrom\'s The Nutcracker And The Four Realms opposite Keira Knightley, Helen Mirren, and Morgan Freeman, Jack is also set to star in Disney\'s upcoming Jungle Cruise opposite Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt, which is currently in production and will be released in 2020. Widely celebrated for his hit show, Travels With My Father (of which Season 2 premiered on Netflix in Autumn 2018), this year he will also star in Good Omens (Amazon) opposite Jon Hamm and Michael Sheen and Series 2 of Bounty Hunters opposite Rosie Perez for Sky (UK). His television credits include: Decline & Fall (BBC), Fresh Meat (Channel 4), and Bad Education (BBC), Backchat, A League Of Their Own (which received a BAFTA Award in 2014 for Best Comedy Entertainment Program and was nominated in the same category in 2013), Stand Up For The Week, and Live At The Apollo. In addition, Jack also filmed Training Days for Google in 2018, where he travelled the world to interview international football stars - the series was released in the lead up to the 2018 World Cup on his own YouTube channel. An established presenter, Jack has hosted a number of prestigious award ceremonies and television series, becoming the youngest ever host of the Royal Variety Performance in 2015. He will host the 2019 BRIT Awards this month, following his acclaimed hosting debut of the event in 2018, and has also hosted The British Fashion Awards in 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2017, and the BAFTA Britannia Awards in 2015, 2017, and 2018. 190 (175 M&G package price including ticket plus 15 fees) - tickets will be located on the floor; include Meet & Greet, selfie & a merchandise package - money from this M&G will go to charity. Tickets are limited to 9 person and the age guidance for this show is that the show suitable for all aged 14 and over.

Wild Front - Live In Sheffield W/ Llovers

Wild Front w/ Llovers Caf Totem Thursday 5th December http://bit.ly/WildFront-CTSheff BIO: Organically formed, South Coast Band, Wild Front, aim to pair the unrestrained emotions of music with the capricious nature of life. It came as no surprise when the band formed, as the four boys had been musically working together for years. Although 80s rock and alternative indie is a love they all share, their primary musical influences are so different ranging from folk to hip hop. Its this exotic mix that creates their unique and distinctive sound. The Wedding Present: 30 Years Of Bizarro // The Leadmill

Gedge and the gang return to celebrate 30 years of Bizarro, with their 20th ever show at The Leadmill this December! Tickets on sale Monday 8th April at 10am Celebrating the 30th anniversary of Bizzaro. The boy Gedge has written some of the best love songs of the Rock n Roll Era. You may dispute this, but Im right and youre wrong! John Peel. The Wedding Present have had eighteen UK Top 40 hit singles not bad for a band that has, from its inception, stubbornly refused to play the record industrys game. That was back in 1985 when David Lewis Gedge boarded a National Express coach in London with 500 records packed into a pair of his mothers suitcases. In this fashion, the debut single GO OUT AND GET EM BOY! was collected from the pressing plant, delivered to the distribution company, and The Wedding Present was born. That pioneering spirit has been at the core of the bands philosophy ever since. From GEORGE BEST, an unmitigated delight [NME], the first full-length release on their own Reception Records onwards, the band has charted an appealing, if often eccentric, course of its very own.

The enduring appeal of ABBA is reflected in the ongoing success of the BJRN AGAIN show having amassed 5,000 performances in 72 countries in 31 years. Hailed as the most popular and successful show of its type, BJRN AGAINs career highlights over the years are many. From performing at Buckingham Palace for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth and The Duke of Edinburgh to touring with Cher, Shania Twain and playing at Wembley Arena, Londons prestigious Royal Albert Hall, London Palladium and Hyde Park. Acknowledged by ABBAs blonde vocalist Agnetha Fltskog, the ultimate aim, as always for Rod is to keep his brand at the top and continue for as long as people want to hear the much-loved ABBA repertoire performed the way only the BJRN AGAIN show does. Speaking on the tour, Rod Stephen said: We are really looking forward to touring again this year. Come and join us for loads of great songs combined with tons of fun and antics.

Pictish Trail // Cafe Totem

PICTISH TRAIL Throughout his career Pictish Trail aka Johnny Lynch has resolutely furrowed his own path, steadily creating a unique catalogue of recordings and performances through his own labels (Lost Map / Fence Records) while eschewing the blueprint of the predictable singer-songwriter in favour of something untidily intriguing. Born out of a compulsion to make infectious, melody driven music from a treasure trove of secret sounds, Pictish Trails spectral songs are filtered through a sun-warped pop lens, where heart-pumping guitar shriek-outs collide with sampled gurgles and fractured lyrics figure-skate over sine-waves of glacial synth. Something of a sonic hermit, Pictish Trail spent a good few years tucked away in his caravan on the Hebridean Isle of Eigg, feverishly working on the follow up to Secret Soundz Vol. 1 & 2, his critically-acclaimed double album of DIY electronic folk-tinged croft pop, released in 2014. A mesmerising psychedelic opus about death and the after-life, Future Echoes won the public vote for Scottish Album of the Year in 2017, and sent Pictish on an two-year tour cycle - including international tour dates supporting Belle and Sebastian, British Sea Power, Malcolm Middleton and KT Tunstall, as well as appearances at Glastonbury, Field Day, Green Man, Deer Shed, Skye Live, not to mention his own legendary Howlin Fling! weekender on Eigg. Following the release of a deluxe edition of Future Echoes by esteemed London tastemakers, Fire Records, in 2018, Pictish is currently working on brand new material due for release in 2019.

Skinny Lister

As music fans were only ever given fragments of lives well lived, and we scrabble vicariously through them. Skinny Lister, though, have really given us as much as they can since 2009, passing the growing flagon of their experiences with every album and tour. Theyve led an endless parade gathering fans old and new, from the respected folk circuit to the riotous Download Festival, igniting pogoing mosh-pits at each. Over the past ten years theyve travelled from rain-soaked London to the vast arteries of the USA, upgrading from narrow boat to Salty Dog Cruise, played huge tours across Europe and North America with Frank Turner, Dropkick Murphys and Flogging Molly as well as headlining themselves across festivals, sweatboxes and ever-larger venues. After three albums taking confident steps into an ever larger world, their fourth offering, The Story Is... (produced and mixed by Barny Barnicott Arctic Monkeys, The Enemy, The Temper Trap) takes the tales of the everyday, the minutiae of our lives, and turns them into potent pop that rings oh so true. The stories have been getting more and more personal as the albums have gone on, says Daniel Heptinstall (vocals, guitar, lead songwriter) It always helps when you sing a song for it to have some truth. Theyre the words that get sung back to us the loudest. This sentiment is running through the latest album like diesel. Lorna sings on the hyped-up My Life, My Architecture that all this is my achievement, all cracks have life in between them, I live this adventure. Dan even sings about turning blood into diamonds, crafting his own happenings into the last few years of classic Skinny Lister songs on Any Resemblance To Actual Persons, Living Or Dead, Is Purely Coincidental. Using storytelling truths, Skinny Listers anthology of experiences is being told and retold every night, with every spin of a record or stream of a song. Their world expands as their songs are shared. The Story Is finds fables in vastly contrasting true stories. Of an arsonist setting fire to the flat below Dans (Artist Arsonist), of the sheer annoyance felt when accidentally filling a diesel van with unleaded (Diesel Vehicle) - both songs laced with insight into everyones feelings. Even when the songs are outside of the bands personal experience, they are still inspired by close connections. 38 Minutes came from a friends Facebook post about receiving the Hawaiian ballistic missile alert in early 2018, while Stop & Breathe is a plea to everyone to take time out when they can, based on a good friend talking after a friend sadly departed due to suicide. Musically, the band has also scoured volumes of texture and tone. Though songs like Rattle & Roar and Sometimes So It Goes will be familiar to anyone whos loved the bands three previous albums, Forge & Flagon, Down on Deptford Broadway and The Devil, the Heart & the Fight, the band has explored a lexicon of their tastes. The Shining takes on Blondies new wave disco, giving Lorna Thomas (vocals) the spotlight. Lorna takes the reins on two of the most energising songs My Life, My Architecture and My Distraction and brings her unmistakable vitality to the album. 38 Minutes spins like a top with the urgency of an impending doom, backing ooohs like sirens, and an electric pace as if theyre outrunning the clock. Theyve turned every melodic instinct up and, along with the hooks and lyrical reality Dan has drawn, its a deep dip into the encyclopaedic sound of which the band are capable. The first album was very rooted in the folk tradition, says Dan. But when we wrote Down on Deptford Broadway, we were doing songs like Trouble on Oxford Street and Cathy and we felt at the time we were straying too far from our folk roots. Now at a show theyre some of the highlights of a set. In that vein, the new songs move even further away from their folk origins while crossing into new territory for the band. But you will be bouncing to the spring loaded My Distraction, clapping along with the Jam-like Cause for Chorus or skanking to the ska-jangle of Second Amendment by the next time you see them they are potent bursts of melodic adrenaline. And so the torrent of touring continues for Skinny Lister in 2019, leading cross-continental parties of willing devotees, audiences getting larger as people from all walks of life and several generations young and old, children and parents sing, dance and cheer. These songs, stories and passionate live performances, charm and thrill a huge spectrum of gig-goers from the folk aficionado and the indie experts to the riff-addled metal fans and the furious punk kids. Skinny Lister have opened their lives up more than ever before on this record, allowing us in and giving everyone a space to express joy, to deeply relate to the lines that strike a chord, and to throw ourselves into living with renewed abandon, hope, happiness and excitement, with stories enough to fill several lifetimes.

Mark Lanegan Plus The Membranes - The Leadmill, Sheffield

Coming towards the close of the track Two Bells Ringing At Once a gorgeous hymnal constructed from hazy ambient tones and swelling strings those words might just sum up the driven artists unshakable compulsion to create as well as the music lovers perpetual necessity to keep on seeking new sounds. And Mark Lanegan is very much both of those things. From the opening bars of Disbelief Suspension onwards, its clear that Somebodys Knocking is an album made by someone deeply obsessed with how music with all its primal, spiritual healing power truly penetrates the soul. As a result, theres joy in the music, as if created from a perfect set of inspirations smashed and grabbed from Gods own record shop. Some of the influences are oblique, others direct and fully respectful. From the Raw Power-esque garage metal grind of that opener to Letter Never Sents rocket-powered take on Love-era kaleidoscope-psych, through the pensive subterranean murk of Dark Disco Jag and on to Playing Neros sun-bleached riff on Joy Divisions Atmosphere, theres the glee of infatuation running deep in the tracks. And, in some ways, that display of infatuation serves to change the very perception of Lanegan the artist this album being less the tale of a brooding, crepuscular rocknroll veteran and more that of someone consumed by a lifelong love of words and sound fused together. With that perception shift in mind, one of the most remarkable moments on Somebodys Knocking is Penthouse High a track that positively blooms, sounding like a love letter to imperial phase New Order. For Lanegan, it signals a return to one of his formative musical loves from a time even before he joined Screaming Trees. Ive always been into electronic music since I was a kid, he says. I think the reason those elements have become more obvious in my music is that my tastes have changed as Ive grown older. The bulk of what I listen to now is electronic. Alain Johannes and I had actually written Penthouse High for Gargoyle (the 2017 album the Guardian stated saw Lanegan in the form of his career) but then it didnt really fit on that record. I have been a huge fan of New Order and Depeche Mode forever and have wanted to do a song along those lines for a long time a blatantly catchy, old-school dance-type song. Although Somebodys Knocking came together in an eleven day session in L.A. (Lanegans hometown of the last twenty two years), many of the deepest musical influences on the record are European be they the aforementioned electronic artists or newer, murkier forms provided by writing partners Martin Jenkins (who records as Pye Corner Audio for Ghost Box) or Rob Marshall a collaborator on Gargoyle and on his own, forthcoming debut album as Humanist. In each case, Lanegan approached working with each of the writers from the perspective of a fan. Rob approached me a couple years ago about doing some some songs for his band. I liked it immediately, and found it easy to write melodies and words to, so i said sure. After that, he sent me an email thanking me and said that if id ever like him to do something for me, just give him a shout. This time round, I needed some tunes and took Rob up on his offer. He gave me music for five tracks. With Martin Jenkins, Id been a long-time fan of his electronic music Ive had him work on both my remix records in the past. Lyrically, Somebodys Knocking sets the listener off down multiple rabbit holes, painting deeply psychedelic pictures where someones drip, drip, dripping acid out of the dropper (Disbelief Suspension) or where the hounds are behind me/footsteps following/you know you cant find me/Im miles from the crime scene on the monumentally addictive Stitch It Up. More often than not, Lanegans lyrics are written reactively to music. I feel like I write lyrics instinctively. I let the melody come first and then it tells me what the words are going to be and I write whatever feels appropriate. That said, Im also influenced by everything Im into. I dont usually like to talk about what a song means to me; I prefer that the people who connect with a song do so with their own interpretation. It never crossed my mind what Neil Young meant by After The Gold Rush, only the personal movie it created in my head. My entire life, all the music that Ive connected to has drawn me in like that. Joy Division, Nick Drake, Son House, Thirteenth Floor Elevators, the Gun Club all the music that meant the most to me, the music that saved my life was the music that told my own story back to me. While on the whole, interpretations are left for the listener to decide on, there are aspects of the real world that cant help but seep subconsciously into Lanegans songs. It seems to me that the entire world is in a weird, precarious place right now. I try to not be someone in a constant state of worry and alarm but watching the massive divide that is taking place and the political situations, especially in the US and UK makes me think, what the fuck are these idiots thinking? The hatred, racism and all this other fear-driven shit, these adults that continually drive the machine that perpetuates this ignorance to their own ends should all be in the prison cells instead of the non-violent drug offenders in them now. I cant specifically say how any of this effects my writing but I know that most of the things that occupy my thoughts have a way of coming back out in a song. At the end of the day though, Somebodys Knocking doesnt need to be either commentary or allegory. Like Lanegans best work, it tells its own stories and weaves its own wonders, conjuring up feverish hallucinogenic visions to sit atop roughly hewn rock and glassy, brilliant bright electronics. And then it leaves them to penetrate their own ways right down to our deepest, darkest roots.

Apricot Ballroom W/ Donna Leake

With winter coming up fast, we thought it was about time we dropped news of this one... After taking a couple of months off from Bal Fashions after our last party earlier this month, we\'re taking this one back to basics, with one very special guest selector alongside our residents, back in our home venue. Low capacity for an intimate vibe and audiophile quadrophonic sound to be expected. For this party we are hugely excited to be welcoming another phenomenal selector for another Sheffield debut (after another gig was sadly cancelled earlier this year); the supremely talented Donna Leake. She\'s one of the rotating residents at London\'s premier audiophile listening spot; brilliant corners, as well as the host for a regular show on NTS Radio. From stand out sets at the two iterations of Houghton Festival so far, to a blinding performance on the Boiler Room stage at Dekmantel, she\'s been absolutely blowing up lately. A deep digger in the most accurate sense of the term, her sets can travel through an array of different genres without ever touching ground on the familiar, but all whilst maintaining a supremely danceable edge. Jazz, funk, psych, prog, jungle, etc... Expect the unexpected! We\'ve also convinced her to do a special extended set for us, which we\'re expecting to go on for at least 4 hours. This really isn\'t one to miss! Early bird tickets start at 7 and are very limited, so don\'t hang around. As always, a portion of profits will be donated to local LGBTQI+ charities. Moonrise Winter Warmer

Moonrise is back for our first dance of this academic year, returning to our favourite venue, Yellow Arch Studios, with a two room \'Moonrise Winter Warmer\' to once again raise money and awareness for Irise. For this edition we\'ve got some serious talent from our long-standing friends and collaborators Pretty Pretty Good as well as from GRL., La Rumba, Mango Disco and UK Mondo Radio. If that wasn\'t enough for you then Peachy UK will also be hosting the Caf area for us this time around. In the main Venue space you can expect an eclectic mix of groovy, electronic and percussive latin, afro-beat and globally-inspired rhythms, along with the usual Moonrise funk and disco classics from this dreamy lineup of talented local DJs (A-Z)... Amina (GRL.) Colecta (GRL. / UK Mondo Radio) Empress (Mango Disco) Romn Rocha (La Rumba) Smorsli (Pretty Pretty Good) + Sheffield University Samba Band will again be bringing the energy with another one of their famous live performances! In the intimate Caf area Peachy UK will be taking control of proceedings and adding a more bass focussed twist. They\'ll be lending us their razor-sharp expertise on only the very best of dubstep, grime and UK funky with the following all-star lineup (A-Z)... Aztek b2b Taiko (Dank \'N\' Dirty Dubz / White Peach Records) CLOUWDS b2b LUNAR b2b Tino (PyroRadio) LOU MO MINXY Entry is once again a bargain, with Early Bird tickets available now for just 3 and Standard release costing just 5 once those are gone: bit.ly/MoonriseWinterWarmerTickets It\'s a prime date too, just before the festive break and right before the university semester ends, so we\'re expecting another sellout. We\'ll only have tickets on the door if we don\'t sell out in advance, and they will cost 7. Don\'t sleep! As always with Moonrise, 100% of proceeds go direct to Irise International, our brilliant charity which does loads of really incredible work with women and girls in the UK and in East Africa. You can find out more about the organisation here: www.irise.org.uk Just 5 (the price of a ticket) helps Irise to reach one girl and to help provide her with the means to manage her period safely and hygienically, ensuring she doesnt miss out on school; an essential step in breaking the cycle of poverty! In November 2017, Hobo Johnson released the record The Rise of Hobo Johnson, which Frank wrote during a time he had to live out of his \'94 Toyota Corolla - hence his self-given pseudonym. On April 17, 2018, Hobo Johnson released the highly anticipated single "Peach Scone" (both the studio and live version), which debuted on Spotifys New Music Friday. Across all socials, their followers have grown from 10,000 total to well over one million followers. Their fervent new fans boosted the 2017 The Rise of Hobo Johnson album to #8 on the iTunes Hip-Hop chart and #11 on Billboard\'s Heatseekers chart. Hobo Johnson has also caught the attention of big media players like MTV who tweeted "Very much in love with @_hobojohnson" and a feature from Perez Hilton and The Needle Drop. Mute Swimmer At Cafe#9

Mute Swimmer is a musical project of artist Guy Dale. Through numerous releases and a changing cast of collaborators and players Dale has been shooting his fascination with the traditional lyrical song through art performance, post rock, ambient drone, folk and spoken word. He has described Mute Swimmer as a character of sabotage - frequently upending expectations of the singer-songwriter by playing with the form in different musical contexts and taking the process of writing and moment of performance itself as a subject. As such his songs often enter into the real time of performance - addressing the listener directly in the present tense. Romantic, ironic and hauntingly melancholic by rapid turns - he has earned a reputation for his compelling, idiosyncratic live performances and recordings. Old Love a collaboration with Copenhagen based musician Own Road was released on Dendron Records in 2018. Air Itself - a meditative suite of song-scapes channeled Dales poetic, ambivalent lyricism through ambient folk, field recording and lo-fi drone. Present Perfect (2015) and Second (2014) - recorded as a four piece art rock band - received airplay on BBC 6 Music (UK), Byte FM (Germany) and Radio Tres (Spain). Seven inch single Song Against Itself (2011) was record of the week at Rough Trade and Piccadilly Records. Other releases include Old Tricks (2013), Orientation(2011) and the eponymous debut Mute Swimmer (2010). Mute Swimmer has released music on Truco Esprrago, Dendron, Woodland and Bleeding Heart Recordings.

The Bon Jovi Experience, The Leadmill , Sheffield

The Bon Jovi Experience www.facebook.com/BonJoviExperience/ The Bon Jovi Experience are the world\'s first and finest tribute to the great Bon Jovi and are the world\'s ONLY tribute to have been requested by and to have performed live on stage with Jon Bon Jovi himself. The BJE features Jon Bon Jovi clone frontman Tony (Jon) but unlike many other tributes the great musicians accompanying him are also top look-alikes, Ed ( Richie Sambora) Guitars, Jon (Tico Torres) Drums, Steve (Hugh McDonald) Bass and Steve (Dave Bryan) Keyboards. Individually and as a band they produce the looks and sounds of the real thing so closely that we quote: Having The BJE perform here was, without question, like having the actual stadium band in my club The difference between watching the BJE and any other Bon Jovi tribute band is that with other bands you realise they are just a tribute but as you watch The BJE you forget they are a tribute they are just that good. You could almost be fooled into thinking that this band was the real thing. Quite simply a mirror image of the man himself Have you seen this guy, he looks so much like Jon Bon Jovi, its freaky man Chad Kroeger (Nickelback) The best tribute I\'ve ever seen JON BON JOVI. Tony has been performing the music of Bon Jovi for nearly 20 years now and the band were the first to be asked to perform on the US New Jersey tribute album, Garden State of Mind. He is the only UK Bon Jovi tribute band frontman to actually be asked to appear on Channel 4s Big Breakfast Show with the real Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora. They were told by BBC Radio 1 DJ and TV personality Chris Evans, that they were the best tribute band he had ever seen and were also asked to appear live on Chris show. The band has a significant fan base not to mention Tony\'s various TV and film appearances, including ITV\'s International Stars and their Doubles hosted by Dale Winton, BBC\'s Doctors and the British film Kinky Boots.

Jamie Duggan 7 Hour Speed Garage Vinyl Set!

Jamie Duggan \'ALL NIGHT\' (PART 2) 7 Hour Full Vinyl Set Saturday 31st August 2019 // 10.30PM-5.30am Tank, Sheffield Part 2 is on!! JAMIE DUGGAN \'ALL NIGHT\' 7 HOUR FULL VINYL SPEED GARAGE SET! Saturday 31st August, 2019 | 22.30PM-05.30PM Having given it much thought i decided a part 2 has to be done! Part 1 was so good, the initial response, the whole event, the music, the people and then the feedback it got afterwards was all so amazing i wondered if we should just leave it at that. But i asked you the question and you all said it needed to happen so i gave it some thought and if nothing else, just purely down to the fact that even in a 6 hour set i still hardly got to play half the records i wanted to i decided you\'re right, WE HAVE TO DO IT AGAIN! This time round i\'m gonna make sure all your favourites are played of course but i\'m gonna make sure i also play as much stuff that you didn\'t hear the first time round as i can possibly fit in. Other classics, forgotten gems, rare & unreleased bits you may have never heard before! So i\'ll be back digging back through everything and constructing a set list that does just that! And just for good measure, I\'m gonna add an extra hour onto this one!!! The plan - Me.... All Night .... 3 Technics Turntables 7 HOUR FULL VINYL SET!!! No record played twice! It was put to a vote and the winning date by a mile was SATURDAY 31ST AUGUST! So you asked for part 2, you gave me the date and IT\'S NOW ON! Tickets on sale at Skiddle FRIDAY 24TH MAY, 10AM! Be ready for those discount early birds! Please remember these important details that will carry over into this event too - This is a night for people that love that Old Skool speed garage sound! I want to keep this intimate and to the right crowd so I will be limiting tickets and putting them on sale as first come first serve. I know this will ensure the people that wanna be there the most will be!! Most importantly, this needs to be clear... This is 100% speed garage & early 4/4 only! No new stuff (unless its Speed Garage) & no 2006-2010 Bassline etc. Of course EVERYONE is welcome to this event but I only want people that are all there for the same reason as me... a love for that Speed Garage Sidney Street Niche sound! Please dont buy a ticket if thats not you! See you all on the 31st!

Slipknot

In the wake of their return to the Number 1 slot on the Official UK Albums Chart with much lauded sixth studio album, We Are Not Your Kind, SLIPKNOT have announced their UK & Irish tour dates for early 2020 and will be performing at the FlyDSA Arena in Sheffield on Monday 20th January 2020 - BEHEMOTH will be their special guests. As well as taking the top album spot in the UK, SLIPKNOT, who are as much a cultural phenomenon as they are a band, made a resounding global impact, with #1 debuts in the USA, Australia, Canada, Japan, Ireland, Belgium and Finland, as well as Top 3 debuts in Germany, France, Norway, Italy, The Netherlands and New Zealand. Reviews for We Are Not Your Kind encompassed a broad media spectrum, reinforcing the innovation and creative vision of the Iowa band, twenty years into their celebrated existence. With their latest studio album, Slipknot have released one of the strongest albums in their career, remarked Consequence of Sound, with The Independent declaring, The sheer ambition of We Are Not Your Kind is just as staggering as their seminal record Iowa the dynamic might be even better. The Ringer professed, Slipknots sixth album furthers the argument that theyre the most important heavy band of their era, while Kerrang! attested, 20 years since their debut, Slipknot are as bold, fearless and exhilarating as ever. Vulture praised the LP for its maelstrom of serrated riffs, warlike drums, and machine-gun poetry from Taylor, and The NME put it simply: The \'Knot\'s sixth album is an astonishing record. We Are Not Your Kind is highlighted by Solway Firth, Birth Of The Cruel, and the LPs lead single Unsainted. All three came with an M. Shawn Crahan directed official music video, and each trended worldwide on YouTube (all categories, not just music) with Unsainted at #1 worldwide for a full 24 hrs, with the band amassing over 58 million views in just two months. John Craigie // Cafe Totem

Renowned for his eloquent Americana style, engaging live shows, and off-the-cuff clever observations, John Craigie carries on the legacy of classic singer-songwriters, while blazing a trail of his own. Recently, that trail twisted and turned into new territory for the Portland, OR performer who The Stranger appropriately dubbed, the lovechild of John Prine and Mitch Hedberg. His music speaks loud to both audiences and fellow artists. Todd Snider notably hand-delivered a gift on-stage, and Chuck Norris has sent fan mail. His fifth full-length album, No Rain, No Rose boasted two collaborations with Gregory Alan Isakov, namely Highway Blood and I Am California. Both quickly cracked One Million Spotify streams and counting as his knack for a captivating narrative and rustic aural palettes powered the 13-track offering together. As No Rain, No Rose landed, he caught the attention of none other than Jack Johnson. Soon after, Craigie found himself onstage for 12 shows during Johnsons 2017 summer tour including performances at The Greek Theatre in Berkeley, CA and The Gorge in Washington. Along the way, he earned acclaim from SF Weekly, Seattle Times, AXS, and more. Festival appearances also include Ohana Music Festival (CA), Mountain jam (NY), SXSW (TX), Electric Forest (MI), Summer Camp (IL), Kate Wolf Music Festival (CA), Pickathon (OR), Edmonton Folk Festival (AB), Kerrville Folk Festival (TX), Wanderlust (CA & VT), High Sierra Music Festival (CA) and more. When Craigie plays, its one of those special shows that can make you laugh and cry in the same song. Its a musical journey that cant be denied.

The Moth Gatherer (SWE) + Yuxa | Record Junkee, Sheffield.

Circle Sounds & Holy Spider Promotions Presents: The Moth Gatherer - (Stockholm, Sweden) \'The new release Esoteric Oppression is the album where The Moth Gatherer truly perfect that balance between heaviness, melodic post-rock and overall patience in their songwriting. The influence of old post-metal greats is still here both figuratively and literally, as Magnus Lindberg (Cult of Luna) does have mastering duties on this latest album. The band really opts for more drawn-out structures to the songs... Now you had albums like Somewhere Along the Highway, The Eye of Every Storm, or In the Absence of Truth coming out. Those latter albums are what Id say Esoteric Oppression resembles the most and in some ways, that enveloping sense of heaviness is missed here. But what it is being replaced with shines in its own bright way, showcasing a band that wants to do more than just be heavy. And now we have another stunning album by one of post-metals more consistent modern ambassadors, and one of the best releases out of the genre youll likely hear all year.\' LISTEN: https://agoniarecords.bandcamp.com/album/esoteric-oppression Yuxa - (Brighton, UK) \'Brighton, UK-based Yuxa have an intuitive grasp on the ideal ebbs and flows of atmospheric sludge and doom. In a genre characterized by (sometimes overly) patient build-ups and measured, drawn-out compositions, its refreshing to hear a band who make getting to the point possible within the post-metal/sludge framework. The slow-burning fierceness that underlies their music, bolstered by a dual-vocalist setup, is reminiscent of Through Silver In Blood-era Neurosis, though Yuxa inject their own vibrance they feel more direct, a candid address to the listener. There are also hints of Cult of Luna; Yuxa have a similar mysterious light reflected in their melodic sensibilities, as well as an uncanny sense for tension-layering.\' LISTEN: https://yuxauk.bandcamp.com/ + Special guest supports to be announced. 6 advance. 8 on the door. 7PM | 14+

Hawthorne Heights: 'The Silence In B&W ' In Full / Sheffield

The Leadmill x Wrong Crowd pres. Hawthorne Heights performing \' The Silence in Black and White\' in full! Tickets on sale Friday 27th Sept 9am! Hawthorne Heights return to Sheffield to play their seminal debut album The Slience In Black & White in full! This is definitely one for all you old school emos! One of the biggest breakout successes of the new millennial emo-punk explosion, Hawthorne Heights found huge success with their first two albums, both of which went gold; their 2006 single Saying Sorry also earned gold status. Originally called A Day in the Life, the Ohio-based band endured personal hardships, numerous lineup changes, and a landscape of shifting musical styles over the years, but continued to hone their particular brand of angst-fueled pop-punk well into the 2010s. Composed of drummer Eron Bucciarelli, bassist Matt Ridenour, vocalist/guitar player J.T. Woodruff, and guitarists Casey Calvert and Micah Carli, Hawthorne Heights built their fan base on a demo recording and a series of self-booked national tours that saw them sharing stages with the likes of From Autumn to Ashes and the Descendents. In 2003, they signed with Chicago label Victory Records, resulting in the 2004 release of their powerful full-length debut, The Silence in Black and White. While the bandmates relentlessly toured behind it, the album became Victorys highest-selling debut, and its lead single, Ohio Is for Lovers, slowly invaded rock radio. Hawthorne Heights second album, If Only You Were Lonely, arrived in 2006 along with a DVD titled This Is Who We Are. Leading up to the albums release, Victory urged the bands street team members to help it chart above R&B singer Ne-Yo, whose own album was slated to be released the same day. Questionable promotional tactics included rearranging store displays to hide Ne-Yos record and make Hawthorne Heights more prominent. Lonely debuted at number three on the charts, though more than a few eyebrows were raised in the band and labels direction. Regardless, the album continued to sell well, eventually going gold.

The Murder Capital // The Leadmill, Sheffield

If you have ever seen The Murder Capital live then what will strike you most about the experience is not the heaviness, the bleakness or the rage you might expect, but witnessing a most extreme vision of tenderness. Their debut album, When I Have Fears, recorded over the Spring with Flood (PJ Harvey, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, New Order etc.), embodies this tenderness; it is a purple bruise on the hard knee of the so-called post-punk resurgence. It is not a labour of love but a struggle through love, loneliness and grief that now sits weightless upon their five shoulders, not marching, but dancing, out into the cold light of day. It exists in two worlds which oppose each other yet breath each others air, because ultimately it is an album about accepting that which you fear, loving that which you hate, feeling the excess that can only be found in isolation. The name, When I Have Fears acknowledges its own vulnerability, and was given very early on to ensure that consistency of thought, and that beautiful arch in the narrative which gives space for the purging of guilt and leads, ultimately, to its final cathartic moments.Listening to how many places opening track For Everything reaches sonically within the first ten seconds is representative of the albums attempt to touch upon the whole spectrum of human emotion. The guitars, like saws, sing to each other, tenor and baritone; a chiming tambourine compliments even the methodical and angry deep-set drums. Not at all, not for everything,/ Its not for everything at all./ Not for everyone, its not for anyone at all, is so much more than just a smart, slick trick of the tongue, because the poetic and sonic landscape of which it speaks, and that which the whole album speaks, is both a mountain and a valley - it really becomes both everything and nothing. The music was secondary, and the ethos of compassion and ability to fully understand one another always came first. The last time we played through the album we felt every second of those 6 months spent writing it and a lot of it is a reflection of what we went through together. Just to hear Feeling Fades, to glimpse it, you immediately understand The Murder Capitals insatiable need for unity and empathy both to banish and beautify the crux of loneliness. We hear that isolated voice searching out to sea, And as the feeling fades away/ The tearing streets create a wave: it lurches forward with uncertainty over the resounding bass that creeps slowly, slowly, and eventually catches up with a crack of those chugging drums. And suddenly we have union, we are there running alongside that voice, hand in hand. And, as everything falls in time and into place, we become acutely aware of the present, and that present which the voice sings of, the now elapsed round you and me, is no longer a lonely existence. You might be surprised to know that the debut album from that dark, twisted Dublin quintet, The Murder Capital, is in all its boyish innocence and vulnerability, a coming of age album. When you get to your teens you begin to feel like youre playing catch up with your inner child. You have to dismantle all the shit that was put into your parents brains and given to you. A generational baggage handed to us perhaps not consciously, but by virtue of blood and guilt, as explained in More Is Less: If I gave you what you wanted/ youd never be full./ Thats the trappings of your boyish mind/ Become unshakeable. Something as small as questioning why at six years old your hands were clasped in prayer, becomes a quiet revolution, and weve tried to dismantle it in the fact that we\'ve been completely honest in attempting to dismantle ourselves. It is an attempt to hold a mirror up to emotion, to pain, which for this group is quite a specific pain; an unequivocal suffering as sharp as a shard of this reflective glass. But by focusing in on this struggle it comes undone, unanchored, deconstructed- but never diluted. It is simply allowed to float freely within the soundscape, where it may become transformed as another harnesses it. The same, but different- it is the cracked mirror. Came home from somewhere,/ somehow covered in myself./ Came home from nowhere,/ Somehow now Im someone else sings Slowdance I, with its intense reverb, drone-like bass and stinging atonal guitar. Its murky, anonymous and unsure compared to the elation of Slowdance II, and even though the tracks bleed into each other, you can senseit emerging from the pain, reborn as the cello sings and we enter the second half of the record. This relationship between pain and freedom is an important one. The suicide of a close friend led not only to the birth of the bands name but to the philosophy of the entire record, every single one of those lyrics relates back in some way to his death. Discovering the work of photographer Francesca Woodman who took her own life at 22, was also a significant touch point. The biggest impression herwork left on us was relating to the loneliness of her photos. That sense of being completely on your own, but also taking solace in the beauty of the work as well. I think wed be lying if we ever truly admitted to ourselves that we werent afraid of dying young. I think we push the boundaries at times. Theres something about Francesca Woodmans work that just takes control of that. Listening to Green and Blue, a track written immediately after discovering her work, you can hear that isolation as each instrument seems to exist entirely in a world of its own- so self aware. Lyrically too, its completely subjective. It\'s a song that can see only out of your eyes, it blurs the background and draws a thick black outline around the iris, gothic and indulgent. If this work inspires within us a sense of self-reflection and confrontation, then the album too came to realise itself, and in the most poignant way possible. One member buried his mum half way through recording, and so was born the dark grooves and tragic beauty of the records bravest track, Dont Cling To Life. Even through everything that was going on we didnt want to write a sad song, we wanted to write a song you could dance to. Feeling grief and wanting to dance through it, and feeling the rawness and emptiness of our own grief, because any relationship that involves love is so specific to you. And this quiet but violent contemplation will eventually lead you to the sobered ecstasy that we hear in the anti-chorus of Love, Love, Love. The final tracks words are weighted with their own importance, they are sure, and the instrumentation is round and whole and warm with the friction of the constant flitting snare, beating like a human heart. Love, fear, hate, grief: it is not the fact of these experiences but their uniqueness, that makes them universal. It is the knowledge that no one else is feeling how you feel, and yet you all find yourselves huddled round that same small dignified fire in the corner of the room at your darkest, coldest moments. When I Have Fears is not black and white, it is a unique experience that becomes universal simply through listening, tethered together by an unbreakable tenderness. Not black and white, but three anonymous bodies, cloaked and embracing in a 13.5-pallid, grey-beige.It is everything and it is nothing.Shared by everyone and no one.

Alfie Brown: Imagination

After a sell out Edinburgh run which garnered incredible reviews Alfie is taking his brand new show on Tour around the UK and Europe. This year he is focused on family, friendship and inherited belief. Truly subversive and almost torridly honest, a true room distilling comedian, like him, the new hour will be loving, dangerous, inquisitive and disgusting. It is tricky to write 350 sensible words, when you come out a show simply thinking Wow! F*ck! Wow! (Scotsman). The British Doug Stanhope (Guardian). The Times, The Evening Standar
