RNCM Strings Festival 2020
RNCM Strings Festival 2020 celebrates string music across a range of concerts, presentations and masterclasses. With internationally-renowned artists working side by side with our talented students, this festival embodies artistry and learning at the highest levels.
It is with great excitement that we welcome violinists Kristf Barti and Henning Kraggerud (Official), violist Veit Hertenstein, cellist Mikls Pernyi, and double bassist Boo Paradik. We're delighted that harpist Sivan Magen will be joining us and that Craig Ogden will lead the guitarists in a concert and masterclass.
Musical collaborations abound as our eminent staff join together with other fine musicians to perform and inspire.
On Saturday evening, students from the School of Strings will perform a thrilling programme of Strauss, Schnittke and Brahms sitting amongst members of the The Hall Orchestra. The RNCM String Orchestra and students from Chetham's School of Music round off the Festival in style with performances of two major works: Haydns Cello Concerto No 1 and Tchaikovskys Serenade for Strings.
Throughout the weekend you can also hear string chamber groups, well-known musical miniatures, and the unique Kabantu who challenge the traditional roles of string instruments.
