''BUTT-KICKIN' NEW PUNK'' Chris Hawkins, BBC 6 Music
"Gnarly... sounds like the golden age of 2000s UK indie" Phil Taggart, BBC Radio 1
Like the young Oasis if they'd read the broadsheets Louder Than War
Sisteray's latest recording project entitled 15 Minutes, was released 14th April on Vallance Records. The release peaked at #22 in the iTunes charts and was featured by the likes of Clash, Louder Than War, BBC 6Music and Radio X.
Exciting, full of attitude, educated and anarchic; and because its the best new EP by an emerging band in years, with 15 Minutes Sisteray may hold the future of British guitar music in the palm of their hand just like Oasis and the Arctics before them. What they choose to do with it is entirely up to them. - GOD IS IN THE TV 15 Minutes review
Since their formation, Sisteray have been bringing their punk ethos to sold out venues up and down the country, performing pop-up guerrilla gigs, organising their own club night Welcome to the Monkey House where they book the bands, promote the gig and often DJ, and have played roof raising sets at Camden Rocks and the Isle of Wight and Reading and Leeds festivals.
Coming together through their shared love for bands such as The Smiths, The Clash, The Kinks and The Buzzcocks, Sisteray also reflect more contemporary influences including Savages, Slaves and Sleaford Mods.
Another London band on the up are Lighthouse, with a huge sound, strong rhythmical riffs and sing-along indie hooks.
Singer/songwriter taking influence from the Britpop and Indie genre. Influences include Oasis, The Stone Roses, The Courteeners, Stereophonics, Jake Bugg, The Smiths, The Verve etc.
Listen to Ashley Palmer music on his soundcloud where he has over 20,000 plays -
Manchester band we are very exited about, citing their influences as Mac Demarco, Arctic Monkeys, Radiohead, Interpol, Bloc Party, Wolf Alice, Tame Impala, The Vaccines and The Maccabees
Rumour has it they met at Uni. Pleasures. blend a sound of britpop and surf-pop in a melodic fashion with a debut single in the horizon
Here's to Manc Mondays - entrance is by a 5 donation on the door
