Experience The Matrix Live in 2020 as part of the Royal Albert Halls Films in Concert series.

Following the hugely popular 2011 season, the visionary science fiction cult classic returns to the Hall. Deemed to have played a ground-breaking role in the development of the sci-fi genre, The Matrix (1999) deals with a subject of concern to millions at the turn of millennium: the border between reality and the virtual world.

Keanu Reeves stars as Neo, a hacker, who is contacted via the internet by a mysterious underground organisation. The leader of the group, the wanted terrorist Morpheus (Laurence Fishburne), lets him in on a terrible secret: reality as we know it is just an illusory world. In reality, people have long been controlled by a sinister virtual power the Matrix, whose agents already have their sights on Neo.

The show will feature the iconic Don Davis score which uses complex and unrelenting sounds to portray the non-reality of the Matrix. Watch as Don himself conducts his original score live on stage and listen as the innovative balance between spoken word, sound effects and magnificent orchestral sound combine to create an emotive experience, epitomising the clash between the natural and the virtual world.
