The Soul Survivors Magazine Awards For 2018

Our last awards in Feb 2017 at Under The Bridge Chelsea, was acknowledged by many as being the best one yet bringing so many soul survivors from their various soul patrol, troops and territories together like Brenda Russell 'If Only For One Night'. With the awards, The Brit Funk Association making their debut and an after party as starter, main course and sweets, that kind of soul food seemed to be well digested. So celebrating 13 years as a bi monthly publication in July, we jump back and 'Do It Again' like Steely Dan Friday 19th July @ the award winning McQueens in Shoreditch, so make sure you diarise that date. We have had a slight Gok Wan change in some of the categories and are trying to acknowledge both the north and south of the UK territories. The doors open at 7pm and the awards will start at 9pm-10pm then we have Rose Windross doing a PA singing the song she co wrote and launched as 'The First Lady Of Soul II Soul' 31 years back namely 'Fairplay', and her big current millennium bullet 'We Are One'. We have an after party with a host of knowledgeable and versatile DJs, on both till floors and that finishes @ 2.30am. We will be announcing how you nominate and vote soon so watch this space, and advise once the nominations have been process on the candidates for the final voting process . For 2018 the 40 year acknowledgements go to the following for their longevity of service to the soul surviving scene :
