Lunchtime Concert: Mark Knoop

Friday lunchtime concerts at Bishopsgate Institute are back with a twist.

Friday 15 November at 1pm

Piano Mark Knoop

Pianist and conductor Mark Knoop is known for his fearless performances and individual interpretations of contemporary classical music. Here, he presents a programme of Laurence Cranes contemplative yet quietly intense solo piano music.

Archival theme: Sports

Follow us on a journey through nine concerts taking in a range of musical genres, from the traditional to the unexpected. Over the course of the series, you will hear three different instruments presented in three different ways each. Genres will mish and mash.

World-famous for our Library, every concert will also respond to themes suggested by our collections through digital projections and pop-up displays of original historical materials. You can expect anything from Victorian memorialisation of death to London after dark and exhibition cultures to be covered.

The concerts run for no more than 40 minutes, so you can bring your sandwiches along to enjoy while you listen to world-class performers then be back at your desk before your lunch hour is up.

No need to book, just turn up!
