Tommy Genesis | Oslo Hackney

SJM Concerts Proudly Presents: Tommy Genesis Live at Oslo Hackney. Tickets go on sale Thursday 8th November at 10am via Alt Tickets. - http://bit.ly/2JFDoBc This event is 18+ In Tommy Genesis video for 100 Bad, shes spread upon a persian rug, rocking sharply shoulder-padded pinstripes and thigh-high patent boots, all the while feverishly shoveling bills into her crotch. To the majority, this is taken as Tommy being Tommy -- but the Canadian-born rapper do-it-all is quick to shoot down any notion that shes assuming a permanent residency inside the fetish-rap bin shes so often tossed into. To Tommy, those shots are a nostalgic nod to Tracey Emin, one of many artists Genesis has sourced for inspiration over the course of her multifaceted career. Citing others like Richard Prince and Nobuyoshi Araki, the shades of her debut album come into focus. Nevertheless, she asserts that she still has some defining to do. Tommys follow up to her 2015 mixtape, World Vision, is thousands of takes in the making -- a practice in patience -- but she is anxious to present a project doused in duality. Genesis admits she was exposed to everything with her young forays into the creative realm. From art school (where she majored in film and sculpture) to present day, Tommy operates throughout various creative outlets. Whether music, film, poetry, painting, contour nude drawing, or curating art spaces, she comes from a diversely oriented world. Dictating her own practice comes natural. Im fully immersed in that culture, Tommy says, adding, Im immune to any shock at this point. Tommys self-titled debut album will be released November 9, 2018.

Woody Woodmansey + Tony Visconti's Holy Holy | London

Probably the closest experience to a BOWIE gig you can get! Holy Holy are Bowies drummer and Spider Man from Mars Woody Woodmansey and producer Tony Visconti, who worked on many of Bowies albums and played Bass on the Man Who Sold The World. Accompanied by an all star band that includes glorious Bowie-esque vocals from Heaven 17s Glenn Gregory, a Bowie fan and friend who also performed alongside Bowie on the original Band Aid single in 1984. The group perform Bowies material from the early years of 69 73, upon which both Woody and Tony contributed at that time, making these exceptionally accomplished musicians and writers a long way from a Tribute band. Theyre the real deal, original Bowie band members, bringing the magic back to life with one of the greatest synth pop front men of the 80s joining the parade!

Jammz | London

Crosstown Concerts presents Jammz The Pickle Factory | London To me, Warrior represents the ideas of creating a path from your current situation to find a better place.- Jammz London grime MC Jammz follows up lauded 2016 EP Warrior with the second, eight-track instalment, to be released just over two years since the first solidified his credentials as one of the UKs most gifted grime lyricists. Inspired primarily by a desire to overcome the everyday obstacles and challenges that stand in between people and their goals and as Jammz himself puts it, being relentless and fearless in pursuit of them Warrior 2 is a powerful and poignant body of work, bursting at the seams with the spirit and creative drive that sets him apart from his contemporaries. With the majority of the eight tracks also produced by Jammz himself, aside from Need That Now and Play That which features an all-star production team including Joker, Jack Dat and NYTA, the beats look to UK Garage, Dancehall and Jungle for inspiration, resulting in some of his most adventurous music to date. As with Jammz debut Warrior EP, his lyricism is spiked with social commentary too; he touches on issues of Londons gentrification on Need That Now, looks global on International Jammz and champions DIY culture and looking inward for motivation on excellent bonus track, Lemonade Man, defining tracks on one of 2018s most powerful and engrossing grime tapes. Tracklist 1. Intro 2. Everything Dead 3. Need That Now (prod. by Sebastian Sartor) 4. Play That (prod. by Jammz, Jack Dat, Joker & NYTA) 5. Interlude 6. International Jammz (prod. by Jammz & Collapsing Scenery) 7. Set You Free 8. Lemonade Man *BONUS*

Yann Tiersen - Royal Festival - 20 February 2019

Connect with nature from Brittany to California at a live performance of composer and multi-instrumentalist Yann Tiersens new album, All. The album is the first to be recorded at Tiersens new studio, venue and community centre, The Eskal Project, built in an abandoned discotheque on the island of Ushant, a small island positioned in the Celtic Sea between Brittany and Cornwall. Continuing the themes of environment first explored on previous album EUSA, All incorporates recordings from outside Brittany, such as the redwood forests of California, field recordings from Tempelhof airport in Berlin, and guest vocalists. Since the release of EUSA, Tiersen has performed in some of the worlds most prestigious venues and festivals, including Edinburgh International Festival, Officine Grandi Riparazioni in Turin, and Sydney Opera House. These dates see him return to the UK for the first time since 2017. Photo: Christopher Espinosa Fernandez
