Whole Lotta Led (Unplugged)

We welcome back Whole Lotta Led Unplugged after their amazing debut at Acapela in January 2019one of our most popular concerts. GET YOUR TICKETS QUICK AS THIS WAS ONE OF OUR FASTEST EVER SELLING CONCERTS! In 2014 three members of Whole Lotta Led, the UKs leading tribute to Led Zeppelin, formed an acoustic trio called Light Zeppelin. Consisting of Lee Pryor on vocals, acoustic guitar and harmonica, Nick Ferris on acoustic guitar and Geoff Hunt on acoustic bass and mandolin they began performing Led Zeppelins classic songs in a totally new format. In 2018 the remaining members of Whole Lotta Led (Charlie Hart on percussion and Martin Weetman on keyboards) joined Light Zeppelin to form Whole Lotta Led Unplugged. This new five piece line-up has garnered rave reviews from their recent live shows. I have seen Whole Lotta Led before but Fridays show was a rare unplugged performance. It is often said that there is nowhere to hide in unplugged shows and that they will expose any weaknesses in the performer. Whole Lotta Led proved beyond any doubt that their passion for the music of Led Zeppelin and their musicianship is more than equal to the task. They were quite simply superb. The Korgis At The Globe | Cardiff

The Korgis are Koming to Kardiff!! All of our friends have been screaming at us - where is the Cardiff gig?!!... so this is like a homecoming for us, as so many of the band are from South Wales. Here is a brief reminder of who we are and what we do! The Korgis are a British pop band known for the hit singles \'Everybody\'s Got To Learn Sometime\', \'If I Had You,\' \'Dumb Waiters,\' \'If It\'s Alright With You Baby\' and many more. They are now led by singer/bassist James Warren (also a former member of 1970s cult prog-rock band Stackridge), and include vocalist John Baker and guitarist Al Steele from the 1990s Korgistouring band. Keyboardist Glenn Tommey and powerhouse drummer Paul Smith make up the rhythm section and \'Born To Win\' provide brilliant backing vocals and bring a vibrant energy to the show. James and the band have worked hard at creating a performance that is both musically and visually exciting. Going back to the very first Stackridge song ever released, through all the Korgis hits and favourites plus excellent new material, the 2019 show has elicited comments such as \'flawless musicianship\' and \'breathtaking musicality\'. A treat not to be missed..

Ben Walker

Ben Walker was recently hailed as one of the best acoustic guitarists in the world by Total Guitar magazine. A BBC Folk Award winner, a versatile producer as well as a celebrated instrumentalist, he has a passion for putting old jewels in new settings, for bringing together traditional and contemporary music and for playing it like no-one else. With six critically acclaimed albums as a duo with singer/songwriter Josienne Clarke and more than fifty as a producer of other artists, Bens signature style as a composer and arranger has been sought after from punk to Proms. His music has been described as thoughtful ( Guardian ), deft ( Telegraph ) and even legendary ( Morning Star ) and obscenely good ( Fatea ). His first solo EP The Fox on the Downs was released in 2018, showcasing his mastery of his instrument. Reviewers pronounced it jaw-dropping ( Folk Radio UK ), and called for a solo album soon to follow. Ben has been developing a repertoire which is in equal part his characteristically virtuosic playing and a gently whimsical history lesson. Hes keen to share some lost treasures of our folk heritage alongside his compelling original compositions in this intimate instrumental set.
