Sucked into the innovative sounds it wasn’t long before InsideInfo, or Paul to his friends, began to become infatuated with broken beats and, after receiving a copy of ‘Rave ‘92’ as a Christmas present, began to delve deeper into the world of dance music: “I used to be obsessed with computer games and I bought loads of computer game magazines when I was younger” he explains “I remember buying Gamesmaster which had an interview with The Prodigy in there. I knew them because of the tracks they had on ‘Rave ‘92’. This was just as they were about to release the ‘Music For The Jilted Generation’ album and I remember thinking “I HAVE to get that!”, so I picked it up. When I was old enough I bought tickets to one of their live shows, the way they played live fascinated me, and I was stood there wondering what the hell was happening behind the racks of equipment!”
Discovering DJing through some friends who played garage, InsideInfo decided to buy his own decks and immersed himself in the world of playing music. Like many though, the desire to create his own sounds swiftly followed and Paul saved every spare penny that he wasn’t spending on records to buy himself a Roland MC505: “While at college I started doing more and more work, I worked as an assistant to a plumber, then an electrician, and painting and decorating. I remember redecorating my Nan’s spare bedroom for her and she gave me some money towards it too. Eventually I got my hands on one and made a few tracks which ended up in the hands of DJ Pappa G from Kool FM. He was impressed with my early progress and came down to my studio and showed me how to sample breaks and all kinds of stuff.”
Forming a partnership with a friend, the name Inside Info started out as a duo, they worked hard in the studio and landed themselves a show on Origin FM where they would play their new tracks, getting feedback instantly from the hordes of D&B fans tuning in each week. After a while the partnership went their separate ways, and Paul kept on the InsideInfo name, taking out a loan to buy a proper studio setup and diving headfirst into his production, mixing up all the different sounds he loves and wrapping it in Tech. It wasn’t long before this unique tracks caught the ear of one DJ Hype, and his first release, ‘Concentrate’ b/w ‘Rumble On Signal’ was snapped up for his Ganja-Tek label.
Since that fateful signing, InsideInfo’s tunes have been at the forefront of many a major player’s box, and with tracks signed to a selection of fine labels, including Horizons, Critical, Blu Mar Ten, Mainframe, and Breed 12 Inches, amongst others.
Coming off a busy year with ‘Honey Bee’ destroying dancefloors throughout 2011 off the Matrix & Futurebound ‘Worldwide: 001’ album, InsideInfo made his debut on Matrix's legendary Metro Recordings with 'Quattro' (with Matrix), backed with 'Ice Beam'. Following the success of that, InsideInfo layed down a smashing remix of Camo & Krooked’s ‘Anubis’ on their 'Cross The Line' remix album on Hospital Records. Not to mention a forthcoming single on Virus with Audio entitled 'Vein Drain'.
After signing exclusively to Viper Recordings, InsideInfo delivered his most complete work to date with the amazing 7-track 'Grow EP'. A tour-de-force of one of the most unique producers in the game, the 'Grow EP' undoubtedly raised InsideInfo into the next stratosphere of his career.
2014 saw a flurry of releases each one better than the last and Inside Info is showing no signs of slowing down. We're VERY excited to have him at Liquifyah.

Alexander Ushakov aka AKOV is swiftly earning his place among the Neurofunk circles of the DNB scene following his debut release through NeurofunkGrid earlier in 2013. Any fans of the genre would soon understand why, taking influence from the likes of Mefjus, Noisia, Spor, Dub Phizix to name a few, his tracks incorporate forward thinking rhythms and enough energy to set off any rave.
AKOV applies a dark, high-octane approach to DnB, with catchy vocal hooks and hard-edged, rhythmic basslines that roar from your speakers in a way synonymous to his iconic grizzly bear logo. Since his hugely successful debut release, his tracks have been getting support from names such as Joe Ford, Maztek, Sunchase, Mako, Misanthrop, Kloe, Kursa, Protostar, R.O and Loko.
Originally hailing from Totnes in the South West of England, Now residing in Bristol, AKOV has found new direction since joining Bristol’s Liquifyah family, a collective of artists and DJ’s keeping the underground elements of DNB alive within the city. The future certainly looks bright for this producer. His hotly anticipated second EP dropped on Neurofunk Grid in March 2014; a date many DJs had penned into their diary, along with some remixes for Denmark’s ‘Brainshakaz’ and ‘Abducted Records’. 2015 is set to see his biggest releases to date on 2 of the scene’s most respected labels: Titan Records and European Neurofunk label Eatbrain Records, following up on a very well received steppy number with an infectious vocal from Twitchee Cordz MC that featured on Drum & Bass Arena’s Annual compilation album.

Jonathan Morgan, better known on the scene as ‘OCTO PI’ is a Drum & Bass DJ/Producer from Swansea now living in Bristol, continuously working on new material. His back catalogue after years of hard work in the studio is nothing short of jaw dropping with a huge arsenal of original material and remixes under his belt. His style can only be described as ‘Up Front’, with most of his tracks featuring immensely strong and punchy drums coupled with complex melodic basslines set on a backdrop of euphoric, evlolving pads. He’s equally at home producing blissed-out, rolling, vocal heavy Liquid Drum and Bass as he is producing balls to the floor, techy-driven steppers. Having also worked in the studio alongside festival favourite and fellow Bristol artist Dr Meaker, Octo Pi’s infectious synths and pounding drums are immediately apparent in their hugely successful releases ‘Fighter’ and ‘Don’t Think It’s Love’ on Bryan G’s much-revered label V Recordings. OCTO PI’s sound is ever evolving over the years with his tracks starting to become more defined. His basses are getting heavier and his synth pallet is sounding more polished and he’s even utilizing his own vocal talents on more recent tracks like ‘Dark Shadows’ and his collaborative effort ‘Leaving’ with fiancé Lady Tate.
2013/14 were busy years for Jon with releases on Complex Recordings, Download Culture and New State Music coupled with regular shows smashing dancefloors as part of one of Bristol's most promising Liquid DnB crews 'Liquifyah'.
OCTO PI’s technical ability as a DJ is certainly something to behold. Blending together a selection of the very best of old and new on 3 decks with oodles of energy and finesse, he’ll tear off the roof of any venue he plays in. Previous events have seen him play alongside the likes of Andy C, Sub Focus, Friction, London Electricity, Chords, S.P.Y, Loadstar, Break, Calyx & Teebee, Frankee, TC, the list goes on. He’s also appeared on the synonymous D&BTV after winning the Drum & Bass Arena Competition for Remixing DJ Fresh’s chart-topper ‘Gold Dust’.
During the summer months OCTO PI can be found gracing the stages of some of the UK’s premier festivals including the Spaceport at Boomtown and Nozstock Festival. One of the original organizers of Nozstock, his set on the Garden Stage every year hosted by Trafic MC in front of 2000+ people is always hotly anticipated and full of energy.
Keep an eye out for his latest release 'The Bass Rate Swap EP' forthcoming on Signal Jam Records, loaded with 4 tracks that need to be heard - Words can't do them justice.

DESPICABLE YOUTH, formed of two 19 year olds from Somerset, came together through sharing a passion for mixing, which then naturally evolved into a love for production. With no musical backgrounds on either side they threw themselves in the deep end and within a space of 6 months were asked to produce a four track EP for the already established and respected Drum and Bass label ‘Lockdown Recordings’.
Such pioneers of the genre as Break, Enei, Octane & DLR, Bladerunner and the mighty Calyx & Teebee heavily influence the duo’s style. Their versatile sound is synonymous to producers signed to labels such as Critical, Ram Records, Virus and Symmetry Recordings. They are equally at home making Liquid rollers as they are Techy-Driven dance floor bangers.
Since exploding onto the scene in December 2012 DESPICABLE YOUTH have been making big movements in and around the Bristol music scene recently landing a residency at the city's premier up-and-coming Drum & Bass night 'Liquifyah' and gaining support from a long list of coveted artists including June Miller, Doc Scott, John B, Mob Tactics, Grooverider, Chris SU, Anile, Amoss, Loko, A Side, Basher, MC Carasel, Fred V & Grafix and Loko. Just this year alone the duo have played at such high-calibre events as 'Mutiny' at Motion, Bristol alongside some of the biggest names the scene has to offer including Hazard, Calyx & Teebee, Icicle, Culture Shock, Brockie, Randall, Dimension, LTJ Bukem and loads more, adding to an already impressive list. This year has also seen them step out onto the festival circuit for the first time, where they have been very well received, smashing dancefloors at Glastonbury and Nozstock Festival to name just a couple.
DESPICABLE YOUTH’s debut EP ‘Lesson 1’ dropped on Lockdown Recordings in April 2014 and they’ve been quick to follow up with a string of other releases including offical remixes for artists such as Cybin, Locksem and Mabel Rogers. They’ve also had a number of tracks featured on online promotion giant Drumnbass.net, the most notable being an orginal track titled ‘Tepid’ which racked up over 10,000 plays in the first 24 hours of it being uploaded. With their bags packed to the brim with talent and potential, these two are launching an all-out assault on Drum & Bass that's sure to turn a few heads.
VERY hotly-tipped newcomer on the scene LAKEWAY specializes in the weirder, wonkier side of half-time drum and bass he draws influences from all across the board for both his productions and DJ sets. Lakeway brings a fast-paced live show to the board, covering a mix of drum & Bass, half time, Hip-Hop and footwork. Having played a number of gigs across the south west and beyond and with releases on E-motion, DLA Black and forthcoming bits on Diffrent and Them Flavors, Lakeway is one to look out for if you like your beats with a different flavour. This will be his debut set at Liquifyah, So you'll have to be there to see what all the fuss is about. Trust us, it's wise not to sleep on this...
