A Place For Everyone Exhibition
In this special exhibition, the people of Bristol give voice to their stories of Colston Hall as audio interviews are combined with around 40 specially commissioned illustrations, which together give enjoyable snapshots into the often unique role the Hall has played in peoples lives.
Meet a retired wrestler, the house manager, a Jamaican musician who brought new sounds to the Hall, an esteemed actor with the Rapier Players, a school child who was conducted by Ralph Vaughan Williams, and even some baby badgers, in this patchwork of tales from the last seven decades of the Halls life.
Drawn from around 20 in-depth interviews, you can also hear snippets of short dialogues conducted with people from across the city, all presented alongside illustrations and concertina notebooks by illustrator Matt Booker.
Interviews conducted by Tot Foster with thanks to the contributors.
Supported by National Lottery Heritage Fund
