**Screening as part of a Comedy Double Bill with Bad Boys Screening**
Following the box office success of "Silver Streak" (1977), Richard Pryor and Gene Wilder teamed up again for the hilarious "Stir Crazy", a film about unemployed friends who decide to head West to seek fame and fortune. However, they are soon given 125-year prison sentences after being framed for a bank robbery. While in prison, they befriend other prison inmates. They try to keep their sanity and their lives amidst a sadistic warden, a hulking mass-murderer and an inter-prison rodeo - all with great hilarity. This film also went on to become Hollywood acting legend Sidney Poitiers most successful directorial project.
This screening is part of NO B/S! A Comedy Genius Film Season A season that celebrates the many tones of Black comedy. The season is part of Comedy Genius, a national celebration of comedy onscreen, led by BFI, the Independent Cinema Office and BFI Film Audience network, supported by funds from the National Lottery. #BFIComedy
