BRIGHTON. THE HOPE. SATURDAY 27th APRIL. DOORS: 7.30 PM :: 5 ADV including BF:: 7 OTD::

Cute Owl Promotions in association with FemFriday and Devil's Dyke Network presents: An amazing night of highly individual genre-defying music with a plethora of musical instruments. Celebrating freedom and diversity of art!

Raw powerful cinematic electronica with punk attitude. Stunning lead hurdy-gurdy with effect pedals, fierce yet tender vocals, personal political lyrics, floaty flutes, massive drone bass and DIY samples seamlessly combine with industrial-rave beats in an utterly captivating show.
The nomadic duo tAngerinecAt was formed in 2008 in Ukraine as a collaboration between Ukrainian Eugene Purpurovsky and English Paul Chilton. Inspired by their studies, travels and music experiences in remote parts of the Carpathian Mountains, their music has also absorbed different forms of Ukrainian and Soviet counterculture; the classical music skills, composition, poetry, acting, directing and stage experience of Eugene since 1990 as well as influences from EDM, drone, blues, metal, prog-rock and more.

They have four independently released, successfully selling albums that have had airplay on BBC 2, BBC 3 and BBC 6. The band has toured internationally in Ukraine, UK and Russia from 2010 and since relocating to UK in 2016 have quickly gained momentum, intensively touring with headline shows all over UK.

Based on personal experience, themes of resistance are repeated throughout their new album Many Kettles, and also in the form of images and symbols that help you to survive.

tAngerinecAt brought not just synth to the table, but a whole range of physical, classical instruments into the mix most noticeably their use of the hurdy-gurdy, to make their music the deep notes of severe doom and dread that gave it the feeling of a rave in a mausoleum...- Ben Knight, LEFTLION

Greenness is an indie psych-folk band featuring English musician and producer Graham Pratt and French singer-songwriter Cess Frangi.
Greenness have been performing regularly in and around their adopted home of Brighton (including Fringe Festival, The Alternative Escape, VegFest, Oxjam, Sofar Sounds...) as well as a sell-out event at London's iconic Royal Albert Hall (Collide Festival), national tours, several shows across Europe and an appearance at San Francisco's historic Sacred Grounds.

Their live performance, as a duo or with a full backing band, aims to create an immersive and emotional journey through the use of various acoustic and electronic instruments, field recordings of wild animals and poetic lyrics carrying a deep message.
