Discojuice 2nd Birthday With Ge-Ology B2B Nick The Record

We are enormously happy to announce that we are marking 2 years in the game with a special disco extravaganza. On the bill, we have two of the very best djs about. We proudly present:

Ge-Ology really is one the finest djs going at the moment. He is a remarkably gifted producer having forged a career that spans over two decades, starting out with collaborations with the Baltimore-based house music legends, the Basement Boys in 1993. After that, his career turned to hip-hop where he can boast previously working with the likes of Mos Def, Talib Kweli, Jill Scott, De La Soul, Yukimi Nagano (Little Dragon), Jem and even a young Tupac Shakur. However in 2015, he turned back to making dance music, releasing the killer Ep 'Moon Circuity' with jazz keyboardist Mark De Clive-Lowe on Theo Parrish's esteemed Sound Signature imprint. However, our favourite thing about Ge-Ology, is the fact that he is an exceptionally skilled dj. His set's are masterly as he sweeps between the very best and rarest disco, funk, jazz, gospel, house and techno. He always dig deeps and never fail to light up the dance-floor. We are so so excited to see what he him play in Brighton for the very first time!

Theres more! Nick the Record is someone we've wanted to book ever since we started Discojuice. He is a local legend, forging a career as a record dealer, being the go-to-guy for the rarest dance records for years. Like Ge-Ology, he is a exquisite selector, and like Ge-Ology he can boast a career lasting over 20 years. His sets are packed with rare grooves and obscure disco oddities which have livened dancefloors worldwide. During the 90s, Nick cut his teeth as a resident of the legendary Japanese party lifeforce, flying out to play 3 times a year for nearly 20 years. More recently, Nick has been touring around Europe whilst also releasing the killer lifeforce ep. He is a hugely regarded selector, also a big favourite of Motor City Drum Ensemble. However this is the first time that he will play with Ge-Ology, and judging by how talented the two djs are, this should be really special.
