2015 was a defining year for humanity; the blue and gold dress crisis, self-driving cars, Instagram becoming bigger than Twitter, and Josh Hyde being employed to decorate the kitchen of a certain Penny Handford. It was during this flirtation with painting that fate intended Josh to cross paths with Pennys son, Harry. Josh was a guitar marvel, Harry had written a few songs about his feelings and before they knew it Spilt Milk Society had been born. They quickly established themselves as part of the thriving Birmingham music scene and gained attention from BBC Introducing; doing live sessions for WM and Shropshire whilst gaining airtime on Radio 1, Radio 2 and Radio 6 Music. Further afield the milky boys have since been hand picked by Steve Lamacq to play on the BBC Introducing stage at the Great Escape Festival and have supported the likes of Superfood, Fickle Friends, Tender and Marsicans.
Hailing from Birmingham, Flares are an up and coming band with a sound rooted in indie rock with a twist of grunge and punk. Following a busy year of festivals, headliners and support slots for the likes of Fickle Friends, Rose Dive and FEET.
FLARES released their debut single, Tunnel Vision // Castle of Cards on Jan 3rd 2019, with a sold-out launch show at the Hare And Hounds, Birmingham. Both tracks were received well and gained airtime on BBC Introducing, plus an interview on WM and almost 15k streams on Spotify.
They are now following up with their next single Keep It which is out on the 25th May.
The band deliver an energetic performance by combining indie melodies, catchy choruses and strong vocal harmonies with heavy guitar riffs and powerhouse drumming.
Formed in 2017, The Verse are a four piece independent band from the Midlands. They play an unapologetically anthemic Indie rock style music delivered with a full throttle, audience engaging performance. Their most recent release Whatever You Ask was described by a local music blog as sounding like a Catfish And The Bottlemen B Side which was taken as a compliment!
The Verse are a band that are constantly aiming to be playing gigs. 2018 saw the band play over 30 gigs in 14 different cities, with two headline shows in the Midlands and in Scotland.
