Infusions With Francis Inferno Orchestra & Brian Not Brian

Stamp The Wax presents Infusions, a globe-trotting party series, fighting back against a devise 2016 and hoping to pull everyone closer through appreciating music cultures from around the world. Season 2 Dance 2 looks to Francis Inferno Orchestra (Superconscious Records) and Brian Not Brian (Good Company Records) for a cosmic infusion. Heres FIO explaining a bit more about their choice. "To me, cosmic is more of a feeling than a specific type or style of music. It is the sound that puts your head in space and gives you the sensation of feeling truly ethereal. Brian and I are going to dissect the origins of cosmic music from its humble yet debatable beginnings of the late 1970s in Northern Italy and take a journey through time to explore where cosmic has played a crucial role in dance music. All of this emulated on a dance floor in a pit of lasers.

Family Atlantica, Vula Viel Trio, Sean OD

London based Family Atlantica are a band that echo the increasingly sophisticated style of the capital\'s cultural diversity. We\'re delighted to be presenting this show with world music purveyors Rhythm Passport. With influences from Latin America, east and west Africa and the Caribbean here, with songs in English, Spanish, Yoruba and Portuguese, at the heart of the band are three people from three different continents. London born Jack Yglesias, a veteran of The Heliocentrics and live Quantic bands, his wife Luzmira Zerpa, traditional Venezuelan musician, poet and singer with a magical voice acclaimed by MANU CHAO, and half Nigerian-half Ghanaian Kwame \'Natural Power\' Crentsil, percussionist, backing vocal, arranger. Their debut album on Soundway Records has been described by Gilles Peterson as \'a really great record\', it was recorded over four years in London and Venezuela, with Cuban rumba, Venezuelan tambor and tonada, Ghanaian highlife, Ethiopian blues and calypso all soaked and infused with psychedelia and spiritual jazz. Joining them are Vula Viel, a name that literally translates as \'Good is Good\' in the Dagaare language, inspired by bandleader Bex Burch\'s time spent with with the Dagaaba people of the Upper West Region of Ghana. The band received plaudits for their 2015 album Good is Good, mixing jazz with Ghanaian music and minimalism. https://youtu.be/TZS-N5XW0Sg www.vulaviel.com For more great world music check out: www.rhythmpassport.com/

ESG (LIVE) In London 26052017

Dictionary Pudding Promotions are delighted to welcome ESG to Electric Brixton for an exclusive 2017 UK performance. ESG began life when the mother of the Scroggins sisters, afraid of the life of crime and drugs that awaited them on the streets of 70s Bronx, NY, presented her daughters with some basic instruments and encouraged them to make music together. What followed was, quite simply, a musical revolution. The Scroggins sisters unique sound immediately spread right across Europe, with Tony Wilsons FACTORY records releasing their debut EP in 1981. ESG played the opening night of the Hacienda nightclub, and their live shows have never been anything short of absolutely phenomenal. However, due to legal and other problems with the group, the band failed to capitalise on their promising beginnings and for the most part, disappeared from view. Having fought decades of legal battles with most of the music industry over the endless theft of their music from the then-unregulated sampling trade, ESG have finally returned to the live scene in the last couple of years. This exclusive UK show will mark this incredible acts only scheduled appearance for 2017. This is a rare opportunity to catch one of the most important female/DIY acts of all time in their native environment, the live stage.
