Be Sharp & Polite Riot Present: The Resignators

The Resignators - it\'s Australian for Ska Punk Rock! 7 Advance Support TBC Ska DJs after the bands until late Korweinguboora, Australia, based Ska Punk Rock band, The Resignators, have been bringing their brand of \'Aussie\' Ska Punk to the universe for the past eleven years. The Resignators sound is defined from the past where members honed their craft learning from voodoo princess in the Caribbean and playing in local and international bands, GWAR, Addiction 64, The Vals, whilst searching for what has become The Resignators sound. Its a sound of melodic horns and floating keyboards fuelled by a tight, hard hitting rhythm section powered by a Jamaican inspired back beat that has sometimes been compared to The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Less Than Jake and Suicide Machines that has developed The Resignators own sound. The Resignators sound is by no means what defines The Resignators as a band. Fun and lots of it, good vibes spread from town to town, city to city, country to country, the pursuit of shared good times and good vibes with each other, with friends new and old, even with total strangers, is what drives these eight individuals collectively known as The Resignators. No strangers to the road, The Resignators, have toured extensively throughout Australia, Europe and North America including some of the world\'s largest festivals, Open Flair (Germany), Ottawa Blues Festival (Canada), Train to Skaville (Croatia), Mighty Sounds (Czech Republic), Victoria Ska Fest (Canada), Pod Paru (Czech Republic) and many others whilst continuing to grow their sound and spread good vibes worldwide. In November 2016 The Resignators will be taking a new batch of original tunes including one classic Aussie cover (it is a secret, but truly epic) into Sing Sing Studios and will be working with producer Marcel Fernandez out of Los Angeles (by way of Venezuela). Marcel is currently working with ZZ Top, but has also worked with Foo Fighters, AFI, RX Bandits, NOFX, Voodoo Glow Skulls, and more.

2 Rude / Sex Bristols / The Kite Collectors At The Fleece

Sun 28th May | 3pm | 12 adv | All Ages* 2 Rude www.2rudeska.co.uk For most ska fans 1980 had to be the year. The music of The Specials along with Madness, The Beat, The Selecter and Bad Manners were the sounds on your radio. Britain was a bleak place back then, and the music that brightened those days were sounds of the great 2 Tone bands. It didnt matter who you were or where you came from, it was a movement that united people and it continues to this day. Fast forward thirty years a once in a generation band comes along, a band to inspire the next one. A band that makes you forget about all that is wrong with world. That band is 2 Rude, a band driven by a passion for music. 2 Rude were drawn together at the dawn of 2009 in a call to arms by the inimitable Mark Harry. This gathering brought together a crew of 7 first class musicians with a calibre that is second to none, and a combined number of gigs literally in the thousands. The band have played with the likes of Roddy Byers of The Specials on several occasions and supported The Selecter and Bad Manners as their stature has grown. Since the band have been touring the country playing their unique style of two toned inspired hits, they have played a string of sell out shows, headlined festivals and have left thousands of people breathless and shouting for more. 2 Rude have rightly claimed their title as one of the hottest live acts in the country. The Skatalites + 2 Rude

The Skatalites are a ska band from Jamaica. They played initially between 1963 and 1965, and recorded many of their best known songs in the period, including "Guns of Navarone." They also played on records by Prince Buster and backed many other Jamaican artists who recorded during that period. They reformed in 1983 and have played together ever since. The Skatalites are Jamaica\'s premier ska band since 1964 who backed artists like Bob Marley, Toots and The Maytals, Alton Ellis, Ken Boothe and most of the singers of the day. Their infectious brand of bluesy, jazzy ska spread like wildfire around the island and spawned the entire genres of ska,rocksteady,reggae,dub,two-tone,and 3rd wave ska. The tiny island of Jamaica has probably had more effect on music globally than any other country or place in the world, and The Skatalites were the pioneers of the music that originally caused this. The original lineup lasted only 14 months but recorded thousands of tunes, some of which are still being discovered in the archives today. Although the group broke up in 1965, the members remained active in the evolution of Jamaican popular music as it increased in popularity. After hearing about the resurgence of interest in their music they reunited in 1983 to perform at Jamaica\'s famed Sunsplash festival. Subsequently in 1986 they migrated to the USA and began performing and touring all over the world as they continue to do now after 52 years in the music business. Despite changes in personnel over the years, the band has continued to stay viable in the market, recording and performing at some of the world\'s largest festivals and has been nominated twice for The Grammys. Their most recent recording "Platinum Ska" features some tracks with Lloyd Knibb , the original drummer who passed away in 2011 and was widely regarded as the creator of the ska beat as well as the "onedrop" rhythm that is the foundation of most reggae music.
