Between The Tropics // Hummingbird Project Fundraiser

We\'re back again once more at Sticky Mike\'s basement with residents and friends to share some of our favourite sounds from around the world in an effort to raise some money for The Hummingbird Project! The Hummingbird Project was setup as a non-profit volunteer run organisation, which has tirelessly aimed to improve the living conditions inside the refugee camps that were in Calais. Many of you may be already familiar with the Hummingird Project in Brighton and the fantastic work they have done. After the Tragic and appaling evictions of the camps in Calais, the Hummingbird Project is still continuing what work it can to help in any way ensuring some aid to Syrain Refugee children and teenagers that were able to make it to the UK. At the moment this involves running creative safe spaces in London and Brighton, using art to explore the issues these refugees are currently facing. They are also involved in keeping awareness raised around key issues affecting the safe passage of refugee children, such as the Dubs amendment. ////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// This event is Free. However we will be accepting donations on the door, so please do spare whatever you can so we can raise as much as possible. We will be donating all profits from our small cut of the bar take, so if failing change at the bottom of your pocket... a drink? ////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// Expect sounds ranging through Afrobeat, Latin Funk, Highlife, Samba, Soweto, Boogaloo, Afrohouse and who knows! Your selectors for the night will be: INTERN DJ SOURDOUGH FOOTSHOOTER Bring ya friends, bring ya family, bring a couple quid (go on) ////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// See you on the dancefloor! Round The Clock

As Good Friday is fast approaching, we thought we\'d chip in and do our bit for charity.. Local stalwart and longtime regular of the Quadrant \'DJ Gamon-Eggen- Chips\' will be on the decks from 8pm, taking you on a musical journey from the 1950s to the present day. Free entry all evening with selected drink deals running throughout the night. There will be Macmillan charity boxes doing the rounds so please give generously :) As well as helping with the medical needs of people affected by cancer, Macmillan also looks at the social, emotional and practical impact cancer can have, and campaigns for better cancer care. Macmillan Cancer Support\'s goal is to reach and improve the lives of everyone living with cancer in the UK. If you would like to get involved with this event in any way, please email hello@quadrant.pub

TCS Charity Night W/ Milk Disco, Raisa K, Glows, Suitman Jungle

We are putting on a charity night to raise money for The Children\'s Society for those young people who need our help most in these troublesome times. "Working with young people across the UK, The Childrens Society is a charity with a founding principle of equal access and opportunity for the forgotten young people of this country. Having worked directly with over 18000 children in the past year, including young refugees, they make sure no one is left behind by tackling such wide-ranging issues such as child exploitation and mental health disorders, as well as fighting for the right to education and accommodation. The charity is also engaged with government lobbying, equipping the decision makers in this country with the knowledge of what those struggling in poverty really need, something that is sorely overlooked by the current government." All profits go to charity. Abortion Rights Fundraiser (IRL)

Fallopian Tunes presents ABORTION RIGHTS FUNDRAISER (IRL) feat. Sketch + Jayney BlamBlam Tickets on sale now: http://www.wegottickets.com/event/389475 More Info on cause: The Irish government are ignoring pleas by tens of thousands of women to repeal the 8th amendment in the constitution which makes having an abortion illegal. Taking a pill to self-abort will see women charged with murder and face a 14-year prison sentence. Ireland desperately needs a referendum on this issue - women are dying, women are being forced to give birth after rape, women are needlessly suffering in silence, women are being dictated to by a powerful, catholic pro-life lobby ie: men in Rome and the Irish State. The Abortion Rights Campaign stands in solidarity with the 3,500+ women who travel outside of Ireland, mostly to the UK, to access abortion every year. This Abortion Rights Campaign fundraiser aims to bring together people in Brighton and beyond to call for the Repeal of the 8th Amendment from the Irish constitution. All proceeds go to Abortion Rights Campaign (Ireland).
