Gregory Alan Isakov / Leif Vollebekk

Born in Johannesburg, South Africa, and calling Colorado home, Gregory Alan Isakov has been traveling all his life. Songs that hone a masterful quality tell a story of miles and landscapes, and the search for a sense of place. His song-craft lends to deep lyrical masterpieces, with hints of his influences, Leonard Cohen and Bruce Springsteen. He has been described as strong, subtle, a lyrical genius. The Carry Nations At The Golden Lion

The Carry Nations are Jim Evans, Rebecca Philip and Rory Smith, a three piece band of folk singers, song collectors and string pickers. Material comes from traditions not bound by the Irish Sea, the English Channel or the Atlantic Ocean, and from the minds and fingers of contemporary songwriters who have made these traditions of their own. Based in Bristol, they were introduced by the crossing paths of their numerous musical projects, and united by their fondness for sitting in a room with friends and playing the songs that have found their way into their hands.

Tom Mitchell & Sarah Proudfoot / Emma Langford / Nick's Daughter

Tom Mitchell & Sarah Proudfoot are a pair of independent folk singers from Bristol. Whilst they are solo performers in their own right, every now and again they combine forces and enchant audiences with their atmospheric storytelling and enthralling blend of melodic harmonies and chiming acoustic guitars. ___ Genre-bending alt-folk singer/songwriter, and guitarist from Limerick city, Emma Langford combines a powerful signature vocal and musical style blending elements of an Irish lilt with Latin beat, jazz and folk. Sparse guitar work complements a profound natural sense of melody while wry and insightful lyrics and a uniquely cheerful demeanour combine to create an engaging and personable presence, both on-stage and off. Since entering the live music scene in 2013 Emma has been traversing the country, with her most recent appearances including Limerick\'s Dolans, Whelans in Dublin, St James\' Church in Dingle, Electric Picnic and the Doolin Folk Festival. She has in this short time also massively enjoyed sharing a stage with internationally recognised artists such as Ron Sexsmith, Hermitage Green, Ben Caplan and Roisn O, to name but a few. In early 2016 Emma received international acclaim for home-recorded track, Tug O\' War, which propelled her to a national audience. Following this, she launched her eponymous debut EP in June to a sold-out date at Limerick\'s Dolans and is now touring her music solo and with a band throughout the country - keep an eye on facebook.com/emmalangfordmusic to see where she\'ll be popping up next! Throughout the month of December Emma will be donating profits from the sales of her EP to local homeless organisation, Thomond House. The EP can be purchased online from emmalangfordmusic.bandcamp.com You can also keep up with Emma on twitter @ELangfordmusic or on her website emmalangfordmusic.com --- Nicks Daughter - Livi Graham - lead vocals, Nick Graham - guitars/piano/harmony vocals Livi Graham is a talented and versatile singer who has just completed her second year on the BMus degree at Trinity College of Music in Greenwich. Her chosen specialism at Trinity is Jazz Voice and there she is studying and working with many of the UK\'s top up and coming young players and singers. However she has been performing with her Dad since she was at school and this has developed into the current "Nicks Daughter" set. Nick Graham is a professional musician and songwriter and was a founder member of 70\'s bands Atomic Rooster & Skin Alley. He also toured with soul legend Edwin Starr, Phil Manzenera of Roxy Music (as The Explorers), and Jim Capaldi (of Traffic fame) and has written songs for many recording artistes including Elkie Brooks, Sinitta, Europe and American rock legends Cheap Trick. Nick\'s song "The Flame" recorded by Cheap Trick, reached No 1 on the Billboard USA Hot 100 in July 1988 knocking Michael Jackson off the No 1 spot!

Releases Hounds of Justice EP (2010) Kissan Wash Away these Nights (2012) Kissan The Bones (2013) Get Folked Records Quotes a wonderful album that would be very much appreciated by the legendary Robert Plant. (Bob Harris, Radio 2) They really have understood what contemporary folk music is about and aimed it for the big stage. (Fatea Showcase sessions) They mine a vein of grubby, ball-waggling folk that Mumford & Sons would baulk at whilst supping champers (live music scene) Rusty Shackle come on like a punk Bellowhead or a poppier Pogues. (A soundreaction) In making folk exciting and energetic, Rusty Shackle are certainly making a big impression in the world of live music. They truly are the perfect festival act. The Wurzels - Easter Sunday Show At The Fleece, Bristol

The Wurzels www.thewurzels.com Having recently celebrated 40 years of carrying forward the songs of Adge Cutler, The Wurzels return to The Fleece this Easter Sunday. Get a couple o’ pints down ‘ee then. A Brief History of The Wurzels- The story starts in the summer of 1966 when Adge Cutler visited John Miles office with little more than a number of songs he had written. The name Adge Cutler and The Wurzels was conceived, a recording contract was negotiated with EMI and in the autumn of 1966 a single ‘Drink up Thy Zider’ was released. This record sold over 100,000 copies and appearances followed on a number of TV shows including David Frost Show, Simon Dee, etc. Further records were released with cabaret and concert appearances all over the country. The name of Adge Cutler and The Wurzels was slowly spreading until a fateful morning in May 1974 when Adge Cutler was killed in a road accident. The Wurzels decided to continue on their own and in April 1976 they finally hit jackpot with their hit ‘Combine Harvester’ which was a parody of Melanies ‘Brand New Key’. ‘Combine Harvester’ is about a country fella trying to get his hands on a wenchs (wait for it) bit of land. Well at least thats what the record implies. The familiarity of the tune and the jolly sound captured many folks imaginations and sent the record up the charts. It made No 1 and sold nearly 400,000 copies in the U.K. alone. The B-side ‘Blackbird’ was No 1 in Canada.
