Local theatre company, Red Dog bring ONE FLEA SPARE to the Everyman Studio next week.
London, Plague Year - On the last day of their quarantine, a wealthy couple`s house is invaded by two strangers – a sailor and a girl, who might not be what she seems. And so another month of quarantine begins. Watched over by their gaoler, these four must find a way to survive both the plague and each other. Unlikely bargains are struck and brutal games played in this searing and lyrical drama, exploring the nature of compassion within the shadow of the grave.
Red Dog Theatre Company, based in Stroud are acclaimed for their contemporary and bold work. For this production, they have joined forces with textile designer Corinne Hockley and video artist Davy McGuire to produce not only a play, but an art installation as well. With music by Harriet Banks, this is exciting, cross-over performance art, an extraordinary piece of theatre.
Corrine is a mixed media textile artist, based locally in Stroud, with a background in costume and stage design. Davy has worked with Cirque du Soleil, The BBC and the V & A Museum among others.
The play is written by award-winning writer Naomi Wallace and directed by Sue Colverd, whose theatre credits include Oxford Stage Company and The Everyman Theatre.
