Don`t Make It Easy For Thieves - Lock and Mark Your Bike
Police in Cheltenham are reminding people to make sure their bikes are kept locked following thefts over the weekend (Friday March 12 to Monday March 15).
Five bikes have been stolen from addresses throughout the town.
PC Tim Cuthbert from the Crime Reduction team at Cheltenham said; “As the weather improves more people are getting out on their bikes.
“We want to take this opportunity to remind bicycle owners how to keep their bikes safe;
-Do not leave insecure pushbikes unattended in either public areas or private gardens. Not even for a short while, it only takes a second to climb on and ride away
-Make sure your garage or shed is secure and that any locks are always used. Consider also installing a ground anchor and lock the bike to it.
-Do not leave keys to you outbuildings accessible inside the house.
-Record frame numbers and security mark your pushbike as well as other valuables.
-Record frame numbers with immobilise.com.
-If you see anyone acting suspiciously in your area report it immediately.
If you have any information please contact police on 0845 090 1234.
