De Rothschild Sentenced To 18 Years For Fraud And Sex Offences
Alexander Marc de Rothschild-Hatton has been sentenced to a total of 18 years imprisonment this morning, Wednesday March 17, for fraud and sex offences against a child.
The 47-year-old of Bowling Green Road in Cirencester was found guilty yesterday of seven counts of obtaining money transfers by deception and sentenced to three years at Bristol Crown Court today.
Three counts of obtaining property by deception have been dropped as the jury could not reach a verdict.
Detective Constable Janine Arkell has been investigating the case, she said; “This has been a very long and difficult investigation.
“I want to thank all those who have worked tirelessly to bring this man before the courts.
“I would also like to pay tribute to his victim who has showed great courage and resolve throughout this investigation and court case.
“This man went to great lengths to carry out a detailed deception which has had serious financial and emotional consequences for his victim and their family.
“He had complete disregard for all those involved, he was purely motivated by financial gain.â€
De Rothschild was also sentenced to fifteen years imprisonment for a number of sex offences against a 13-year-old girl for which he was convicted in May 2009. The offences were committed between 2000 and 2005.
Detective Constable Lynn Prendergast lead the investigation, she said; “We are very pleased with this result and we would like to acknowledge how incredibly brave his victim has been throughout the whole ordeal.
“Our sincerest thanks go to her for the strength she has shown in helping us bring this man to justice.â€
