Tokyo World 2016 Preview

Following on from last year’s hugely successful Tokyo World. The team have been assembling even bigger and better things for this year’s outing on Saturday 24th September, and the site is going to be bigger and better than last years incredible festival.

Heading the bill is no other than the illusive godfather of grime, Wiley. The Bow E3 legend has long been ahead of the curve and Eastville Park will be raving to one of the UKs greatest artists. Supporting him on the main stage will be the likes of other grime heavyweights Big Narstie, Preditah, and Chip. Mike Skinner returns for his second year and will this time be joined by Murkage.

Shapes will be hosting a stage that includes Detroit techno legend, Carl Craig. Joining him will be neuroscientist and DJ, Floating Points. Other highlights on the Shapes stage include Daniel Avery, Hodge, and Moodymann.

Being a Bristol festival there is an essential requirement for dirtier beats. The Mutiny Stage will be facilitating these requirements with artists like Breakage, Ed Rush, and local duo, Loadstar. MCs including Shabba D and Skibadee will also be on hand to keep the party jumping. The Pulse stage line-up includes dub producer Aba Shanti-I, General Levy performing with Joe Ariwa, Kahn, and Channel One.

There will be drink aplenty with a range of beers, wines, and cocktails if you feel so inclined. There will also be plenty of food and in true Bristol fashion vegans, vegetarians, and gluten-free diets will be catered for amongst the meat-eaters.

If you feel like carrying on the party then Motion will be hosting the official after party. The impressive line-up includes Mala, Ed Rush, Brockie and Stanton Warriors. Buses will be leaving Eastville Park straight to the venue, following the festival.
