What is Oxjam?

Oxjam is an annual music event raising money for the charity Oxfam, whose aim is to reduce poverty worldwide. Formed in 2004 by Belfast musician Maurice Macartney, the first Oxjam event was in 2006. This year to celebrate Oxjam's 10th anniversary, Oxjam will be hosting 37 events across the UK including Manchester, Birmingham, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Oxford, Shoreditch and many more. See the full list of Oxjam Takeover 2016 cities. The events are multi-venue single wristband events, which allow ticket holders to hop from venue to venue to see some of their favourite local acts.

This year's Oxjam takeover in Brighton includes venue takeovers in: The Synergy Centre, BLEACH, The Globe, The Prince Albert, The Verdict Cafe & Bar, The Bees Mouth, Marwood Coffee Shop & Studios, The Gladstone Arms plus more! Some of the artists we can personally vouch for are: Night House, Ellie Ford, Sam Jordan & The Dead Buoys, Bent Cousin & Fond of Rudy - but there are so many great artists out that that we've yet to discover, so do a bit of research beforehand, or just go with the flow of things.
