KT Tunstall Tour Finishes In Brighton

It's been 12 years since KT Tunstall's tremendous first album Eye to the Telescope was released but the multi-award winning singer-songwriter is still going strong with her latest release, KIN, which was released in September 2016. KT Tunstall is currently on tour in the UK with her final date being at The Brighton Dome on Thursday 10th November - GET YOUR TICKETS HERE.

KT Tunstall - Before She Was Famous

Scottish-born but now living and working mostly in LA, it's fair to say that KT Tunstall (Kate Victoria Tunstall to give her full name) has led a rather varied life on both sides of the Atlantic. Her early education was mostly in Scotland, with a spell studying in Kent (not the UK one but in Connecticut, USA) before beginning her undergraduate studies in Music and Drama in London at Royal Holloway, University of London. Spending a lot of her post-uni years in a number of bands as well as going on tour with Oi Va Voi gave KT a lot of practical experience which put her in good stead with British Independent label Relentless Records whom she was to sign with before releasing her music. Relentless spent a lot of time working with KT on her music, honing her songwriting and stagecraft before putting her out there - and it's seems to have done the trick with Eye to the Telescope still standing the test of time as one of the most remarkable debuts of the 21st Century.

Before The New Album - KIN

Having won a Q Magazine Award in 2005 (Best Track - Black Horse & A Cherry Tree) and a BRIT Award (Best Female Act) and an Ivor Novello Award (Suddenly I See) in 2006, it's fair to say that KT's career got off to a booming start. Since then, KT has released another 4 albums: Drastic Fantastic (2007), Tiger Suit (2010), Invisible Empire // Crescent Moon (2013) and now her most recent release, KIN (2016). With her music already featured in a number of films and TV shows including Devil Wears Prada and Ugly Betty, it doesn't seem surprising that around 2014 KT moved to LA to start working as a film composer. Receiving training in Skywalker Ranch, KT has written and recorded a number of songs for film, including some recent Disney films. The new album follows on from the critically acclaimed and heartbreaking 4th album, this time with more gusto, up-tempo songs and rock influences - the album is more akin to her earlier works than her later more sentimental tracks, which just goes to show that she is by no means a one trick horse - or a cherry tree!
