Free Live Music At Frothingly Good Acoustics

Now that the latest season of Game of Thrones has come to its conclusion, there will undoubtedly be a lot of people with a gaping void in their schedules each week. We at AfterDark think that one of the best ways to fill it is by going to see some live music and having a drink or two so why not ease yourself in to leaving the house again with a free acoustic show at The Brunswick? Titled Frothingly Good Acoustics, the gig takes place on Wednesday 6th September at The Brunswick in Hove (and as we mentioned, it's free!). The show will feature 4 top acoustic acts from Brighton and the surrounding areas all for the princely sum of not a penny. Read more about the acts playing before and find out more details about the event on our listings page - FROTHINGLY GOOD ACOUSTICS EVENT LISTING

Horsham - Indie folk duo Kat Ward and Kieren Johnstone are Boxtape. The pair of musicians had been performing together for a long time before the birth of their simplified live show project Boxtape in 2016. They focus their output primarily on their YouTube channel, which you can see below in their recent cover of 'Hold On' by Tom Waits.

Chris Driver

Brighton - Chris Driver is a folk pop rock singer-songwriter from Brighton. With a wide range of influences from AC/DC to Zero 7 and much more in between, Chris's music is far from your average singer-songwriter's dripping songs about the girl that got away. Aside from his solo work, Chris also performs in a duo with female vocalist Maddy. Listen to his cover of 'Hit The Road Jack' below.

Brighton - Luvia is the Americana Indie Pop project of Madeleine Niamh. Inspired by spoken word, Luvia's songs contain a strong storytelling narrative wrapped in a mysterious haunting sound. Listen to her track 'Love Was Built For You' below on Soundcloud.

Toby Coomber

Worthing - BIMM graduate Toby Coomber has been getting rather busy on the solo scene in Worthing and Brighton over the last year. Toby is also half of acoustic duo Curious City - and you can hear a full live set from their show at Bar 42 last year below on SoundCloud (it starts about 2 minutes in).
