The Skints are a band from London, United Kingdom. The Skints mix reggae, ska, dub, punk & hip-hop, dubbing their sound as 'East London Reggae'. Since 2008 the band have toured extensively, playing hundreds of shows, supporting bands that include The King Blues,The English Beat (The Beat UK), The Aggrolites, Gym Class Heroes, You Me at Six, Sublime with Rome, Reel Big Fish, Less Than Jake,The Slackers, Gogol Bordello and Bedouin Soundclash.
The Skints formed as school friends in 2005 at Woodbridge High School (London). The band hail from theLeyton/Walthamstow and South Woodford/Woodford areas of northeast London. They spent their first year and a half changing band members whilst perfecting their sound. They settled on the current line-up in May 2007. The Skints relentless gigged all over London's punk rock and squat party circuit before venturing out of the M25 to play their first self-booked DIY tour, alongside fellow east Londoners ClayPigeon. The bands early work received some late night/specialist rotation at BBC Radio 1, most noticeably from The Punk Show with Mike Davies.
