Remembering August

REMEMBERING AUGUST release their new single, “Stay” from their forthcoming second EP Brother on 20th October 2014, the duo’s first new material since signing with Charlotte Church’s publishing company
See Monkey Songs in August.

Discovered by Ed Sheeran collaborator Amy Wadge, REMEMBERING AUGUST are the real deal, a sensual evocative pairing that fuse Jessie and Luke’s tousled blonde locks; impeccable taste and soaring soul-filled harmonies. What’s remarkable is their ages (both only just 18) their ambitions (world wide recognition), and their achievements to date (they have chalked up supports to Starsailor and Katy Perry) in sixteen short yet eventful months.

Jessie Hallett and Luke Searle are a retro yet modernistic duo who share the same love of classic seventies artistes, (Fleetwood Mac, Stevie Nicks, Bruce Springsteen & Bob Seger) create stunning vocals and write songs that are torn deep from within the heart. They formed whilst studying Music Technology in Bridgend South Wales after a course requirement to sing a duet with a classmate brought Jessie and Luke together. The vocal chemistry on that first performance was pure alchemy. Soon afterwards they met Amy Wadge at songwriting workshop in Pontypridd which led to Amy’s offer of producing their debut EP. The lead track from which, “Fire” was BBC Radio Wales playlisted with REMEMBERING AUGUST achieving the prestigious Welsh Artist Of The Week accolade.

In May 2014 they were chosen to open for Katy Perry on her Birmingham LG Arena show, almost exactly a year earlier they had played their debut live show to friends and family in Pontyclun. New single “Stay” fuses smouldering romance with yearning anguish to beautiful effect. The full Brother EP was recorded at legendary Monnow Valley studios and was produced by Lee House (Ellie Makes Music).
Airplay support for REMEMBERING AUGUST includes Artist Of The Week on BBC Radio Wales, Playlisting on BBC Radio Wales, Andrew Shay on Nation Radio, Wales, Radio Cardiff, Radio Newport and GTFM.
