Johnny Lloyd is an English singer/songwriter and guitarist formerly of two Camden based indie band Tribes and Operahouse.
Lloyd claims his influences are of the more indie/grunge elk such as Pixies, The Clash and The Velvet Underground. His style however is quintessential, Camden indie- rock with guitar led hooks and choruses, there is a subtle melancholy aspect to his style as well.
Pilgrims EP was released as a free download in 2014 and contained demos of Pilgrims, Deadbeat, Tomorrow and Nowhere To Go he also released Happy Humans as a standalone single. Most were recorded on an 8-track recorder and produced by Blaine Harrison from Mystery Jets. Earlier this year Lloyd released another taster from his new material Oldest Man on Earth.
Lloyd has toured with artists such as Jamie T, The Maccabees, Mystery Jets and more recently Band of Skulls. He has also had successful headline tours with his new band which includes drummer Miguel Demelo also formally of Tribes.
He has worked alongside Jamie T and Hugo White for his new EP Dreamland which will be available in June 2016.
Lloyd is also the author of novella Journey Through the Heart of a Pig which was released in 2013 and sold in Urban Outfitters London as well as various online sites. The artwork was by London based artist and friend Hayden Keys. The novella received mixed responses yet was still highly popular with fans of both Lloyd and Keys.
