What the critics are saying:

"Killer blast of melodic rock!"

TeamRock - "Sharper, slicker. Watch them detonate."

Classic Rock - "Alt. Rockers match their live muscle in the studio. Thumping, slick and promising."

Stencil Mag - "Tonnes of swagger, atmosphere and grandeur. hard to resist."

Fireworks Mag - "Brave. Stunning. The band stride confidently into an arena that just might bring them mainstream success."

PowerPlay Mag - "Great contemporary rock, warrants attention." called them 'Black Sabbath meets Michael Jackson', Classic Rock Magazine featured them in their 'High Hopes' feature and described them as "Somewhere between Maroon 5 and Rage Against The Machine". What illustr8ors are is an intriguing blend of riff heavy alternative rock, dancefloor and RnB inflections with a detonating pop sensibility. Illustr8ors formed and launched in July 2016 after a career changing recording process with producer Toby Jepson (the Virginmarys) and mixer/producer Stephen Harris (Kodaline, U2).

After having their first single ‘Your Animal’ playlisted on Kerrang! Radio the band garnered a wealth of media attention. Classic Rock Magazine featured their single on their cover mount CD; Kerrang! Magazine raved about them on their ‘office playlist’ feature calling them a “Killer blast of melodic rock”; Team featured their debut video for ‘Your Animal’ as one of their ‘Tracks of the Week’ and publications such as Fireworks, Powerplay, Black Velvet and Stencil magazine have all praised the band as a glowing hope for the future. The band have recently come off their first full UK tour as special guests to Toseland in support of their debut EP. illustr8ors have since gone on to headline their first UK club tour in February this year, ending with a sold out show in their hometown, Bristol.

In their previous guise as BlackWolf, the band scored tours and supports with the likes of The Temperance Movement, Winger, Blues Pills, Von Hertzen Brothers and The Answer to name a few; a nomination for Classic Rock Magazine's 'Best New Band' roll of honour award, numerous playlist slots on major rock radio stations and a debut headline tour endorsed by Planet Rock Radio. However, it was time for a change. A time for a more decisive stride towards a definitive and individual sound. That's when illustr8ors were born.

From the initial coffee shop conversations between producer Toby Jepson and frontman/singer Scott Sharp, right the way through to the numerous days of recording in the studio, the aim was simple. The band was in search of a new voice, one they could call their own and one that had something relevant and relative to say.

It didn't take long before band and producer were shedding away the fat and cutting at the bare bones of what this band were: A slick, riff loving, funked-up (slightly off-centered) melting pot of alternative rock. Growth came quickly and the new songs came out swinging. From the immediate soaring hooks of 'Your Animal' and the lyrical depth of songs like 'Swimming With Anchors', to the foot-shuffling, popadelic declaration of identity that is 'Shush Shush'; the excitement between band and producer was tangible.

illustr8ors are now currently in the process of writing their debut album, with plans to record this coming summer.
