Lucinda's Monday breakfast show hosts an ecclectic mix - every week is different and unique bringing in artists and labels for interviews and music mind expansion! Everything from Funk, Soul, Hip Hop to event garde weirds and wonderful.
She has been playing and writing music since the tender age of seven and has been actively and professionally involved with the music industry for the last 13 years including working for Hed Kandi, Jazz FM, Kinetec Records and even a spell at Boosey and Hawkes! She is one of the very few female DJs in London active in pushing scenes forward, staging her own events, managing acts, producing her own tracks and running two record labels; Gruff Records and Victim Recordings.
Her sets incorporate a variety of different music, from funk, to hip hop, swing to rare groove, breaks to old skool drum and bass. Her sets focus on the raw end of the sound whilst still being both accessible and innovative. In a Lusinda set, you can expect a powerful array of colourful noises, bleeps and bad ass melodies, underpinned by the freshest of ruff beats and fat breaks (always adding a few old skool UK breaks to the cauldron).
During the last ten years, Lusinda has played across the globe in Venezuela, Spain, Italy, Poland, Belgrade, Bulgaria, Czech Republic and Barcelona plus a successfulseries of gigs in Brazil and travelled to Portugal and then Malta at the end of 2006 for the New Year. She also plays up and down the UK for infamous club nights in cities such as Edinburgh, Leeds, Sheffield, Glasgow, Newcastle, Cardiff, Wales, Nottingham, Bristol and regularly on the London circuit. As if this wasn't enough strings to her bow, she has also founded two nights hosted in London; Rhythm Collision, which is a concept created to provide music from genres that have influenced the music we hear today - an eclectic night of cutting edge music showcasing ragga, dancehall, funk, electro, acid house and wonky beats and Swerved, which has gone from success to success, showcasing artists such as The Correspondents, Alejandro Toledo, Pest, North of Ping Pong, The Criminal Minds and Andy Smith to name a few. 2013 had her playing in Germany a few times and also for Boomtown and Fusion festival. Last year was a monumental year with her debut at Glastonbury an DJing again at Boomtown Festival plus her second release on Gruff.
This year has already seen the launch of her creative events company Minatour, DJing alongside the likes of Shy FX, Ragga Twins, Breakage and Mr Thing, having her first residencies at Roaring Boston in Chiswick and Always in Shoreditch plus Mischief, Illusive and Boomtown Festivals in the Summer and who knows what else!!
